Went back through this thread. D@mn dude, you’re hard on 991 active spoilers

A poll might be interesting to see what percentage of us have had an active aero failure.

Confused, you're posting pictures of a 992 TTS in the 991 TTS forum. Is it a 992? If so you may get a better response by posting in the 992 TTS forum. Pretty sure the system changed for the 992.

Yeah you are correct.. it's because I was originally referring back to my original post about the same problem with a 991 TTS. TBF I didn't even notice there was another forum for the 992 version until just now

You’ve had spoiler issues with both platforms ?

Yep, and in both cases they were essentially the same message on my dash. Also in both cases it was day one of ownership. With the 991.1 TTS it happened when driving home from the dealer and turned out (after an overnight hotel stay and many attempts at fixing the problem) to be the air compressor under the frunk.

If its any consolation - your 992 is a really great looking example.

Thank-you sir.. it is a small consolation.

Porsche apparently have two cars in the UK with the same fault, same (all) parts replaced, fault has returned. Germany are working on it I'm told.

Porsche Germany advised changing the rear spoiler control box. They've done this. Should have the car back this weekend.

Update:

I have the car back and I haven't had the spoiler problem since.. I've only been out in it a couple of times so I can't be certain it is fixed but I would have expected to have had the problem by now.

Unfortunately my passenger door ticking/rattle around the middle speaker area has come back depite my efforts to pack cloth behind it and I've had some strange suspension type creaking from the driver side door area when going around left hand turns sometimes.. can't seem to replicate it easily nor tie down where it is coming from.

Ticking noise is exactly like this:
The dealer has no knowledge of a replacement part for this despite the guy's comments.

I' am amazed that there is no better solution to this than replacing a part that cost roughly 5k, what an disaster of a solution the engineer that did this should be ........ ****
I have been looking for better solution then this joke of a retractable front spoiler/wing and there seem to be just a handful. Of course you can go GT3 route fixed front spoiler and rear wing
and just code the retractable thing out. This should be a golden opportunity for a third party vendor to sell quite a lot of fixed spoilers/wings .

I used this on my 997.1 turbo, worked perfect:

So are your problems on a 992 or 991? You're posting a 992 video on the 991 forum.. Not sure what you're complaining about..

Sadly, we don't have an option for the 991 or 992 Turbo... yet.
