991 Turbo S Spoiler Loss
#32
Changing the compressor unit was a quick job (<half a day) and that was from a donor car.
The problem for me happened on the day I purchased although they only figured out the fault on day 2. Porsche themselves appeared to be unaware of the fault type at that time.

I just, tonight, experienced this fault (on the way to the '18 Panamera unveiling; DDG must be feeling insecure...)
Interestingly enough, when parked, the spoilers deployed manually (with the button) as indicated on the dash. But, I didn't do a visual check. That's next.
This weekend I will check for faults with the Durametric and see if it tells me anything of interest.

It's been quite awhile since I was last here.. but I'm back.. just not in a good way. I bought a 2021 992.1 Turbo S last week... Much like before I didn't get very far before my favourite message popped up!
Either this is a very common problem or ... I am "quite" unlucky. Dealer is collecting car to fix it. I'm getting a bit worn out with Porsche problems.

How common is this? Very common in 996 and 997 gen turbos.

And it wasn't the front spoiler.. nor was it the compressor or the the other parts they tried.. Apparently the problem is fixed but the fault remains. They are now aiming to replace the control box. The arrival date for this keeps getting pushed back.. I am very close to parting company with the car I drove for a day or two for good.

Unfortunately it appears something comes after an epilogue!
The car was fine during Novemeber and then I garaged it for a month or two (off and on). Took it out for a run on Saturday. Spoiler failure.
The spoiler did deploy at first but then seemed to fault when it was supposed to retract. Visually (whilst driving) the rear spoiler seemed to stick at a half deployment. Switch changes at that point did nothing at all.
Turning the car off and on again made the spoiler drop down and all seemed ok until it failed again. I repeated this about 3 times and on the third time it worked - or seemed to.
Reported the problem via email, suspected it might be caused by a low battery so I charged it overnight and tried again.
On the Sunday it was completely fine.
QED.. or so I thought.
Went out this morning (Tuesday 31-1) and the error came up again.
Turned it off and on again at traffic lights, problem went away.
No problem on the return journey.
I've contacted the dealer, they are going to collect and diagnose the faults.
A bit p**** off really.. The dealer claimed they had changed everything connected with the spoiler. I am now unconvinced.
