Turbo S, How thirsty?
So Im settling in with this 2018 T.s and it seems a bit more thirsty than my tuned 17-4S. Except for an outstanding spirited drive today, Thanks Brett, I have not really been pushing much boost at all and blew through a tank fairly quick. What range do you usually get on a tank with typical daily driving. Ill preface this with my car starts in sport mode so its never in normal mode. I find PDK annoying in normal mode as it speeds through the gears too quickly and I know why.

And using all of its capabilities absolutely craters the fuel economy, putting it in sport mode also isnt helping your CO2 reduction efforts either.
They're interesting cars for sure.

My 17 Turbo S average is 21.3 MPG - as high as 26.1 on the highway and as low as 10.4 after an 80 mile rip in the mountains.
My old 14 Turbo S averaged 18.9 MPG (I daily drove it before I retired) - 27.6 peak on the highway and 12.4 on the low end.
This is all calculated using the odometer vs pump delivered (not onboard guess-o-meters).

When driving in a very spirited fashion with revs kept up, they are very thirsty.
Yesterday, I participated in a very spirited PCA touring event that was about 100-miles of very twisty, narrow, and lightly traveled rural roads with a lot of elevation changes. I drove it in Sport and PDK manual mode, keeping the revs up so that the power band was almost always in the sweet spot between 3-5K rpms.
I topped off a couple of miles before tour start, and at the end of the tour, my tank was a hair above 1/2 full in just 100 miles.
I never look at the trip computer, which zeros out after every shutdown, so I can't provide an exact mpg number. However, I'd estimate it was 7 gallons in 100 miles, so about 14 mpg. Some of the tour was lower rpm when caught behind traffic, tractors, and pedal bikes. I suspect on a track it would be maybe half that.

The small tank goes quickly in the mountains. I have the small tank in the turbo and it requires frequent fills when covering ground. The extended range tank in the GT3's lasts forever, huge difference between the two.

I set my trip gauge after every fill up. I have a heavy foot and drive in sport all the time and sport plus often when I want to push it. I don’t get good mileage at all , maybe 13-16 mpg.
I also use 5W50 oil for the high Florida heat. Car runs quiet as a mouse but that also doesn’t help with mileage.
Thank God I didn’t buy it thinking I was going to get 30mpg.

I reset my trip counter every time I fill up, plus every month I reset my 'All' trip computer for ODO reading, miles driven and MPG. So far in 2024, my TT (not TS) has managed...
Jan- 720 miles (HPDE weekend), 11.4MPG
Feb- 17.7 miles (was in shop for upgrades that took a while to come in), 14.8MPG
Mar- 345.8 miles, 17.7MPG
Apr- 341.2 miles, 18.0MPG
May- 419.0 miles, 19.4MPG
Jun- 444.8 miles, 20.5MPG
On highway cruising speeds (meaning 75-80mph) I'll get 26, 27, 28 even sometimes set on cruise if it's just highway/toll roads. A lot has to do with the thirsty 3.8L wanting that go-go juice before the turbos kick in, lower in the rev range. But I'm happy with it honestly compared to the performance.
