Yes, you will develop an obsession and want to drive it every day, you won’t be able to park it and walk away without turning back to admire it and lastly even though it’s a highly capable and fast car you won’t be able to keep from modding. Good luck in your choice.

Wonderful experience with my 14 Turbo S until now. Ready to give it away. High pressure fuel pump failed. $7500 to replace & that is not the bad news. Porsche has no part available anywhere & can't give a replacement date. Dealer said to expect to be without my car for 3 to 6 months while they redesign the pump. If anyone has any updated info on this, please chime in, Recall? Big dealer on the East coast indicated they had over 100 on backorder.

HPFPs have been on back order for a very long time. This failure affects 997.2 cars as well. There was a recall for 2009 production ... WB08 is the reference number. Porsche has allowed claims for cars after 2008 a well.
Yeah, frustrating. Might try a junk yard, but that's a crap shot. If you DIY, pull the fuse and crank the motor to relieve any built-up pressure. This applies whether the pump is working or not, just for insured safety. Good luck.
In the meantime, if you're serious about giving the car away ... !!!!

thank you again fellow Rennlisters! as soon as the car is home will make sure an aftermarket bumper/bumper warranty is in place. Got my inquiries on Fidelity or Freedom unless there's a better one somewhere, lol

It does not say “in stock” ‘cause Pelican doesn’t stock a $4k part (if any) and the only reason a dealer would stock a $4k part is because they got ‘stuck’ with it.
If you want to know if it is actually *available* contact your favorite Porsche dealer or Porsche Parts Express merchant and ask them to check stock in the US and in Germany and if zero report on backorder number.
I’ve been ordering Porsche parts for a @#$%ing long time.

Thanks guys. I have contacted several dealers including Pelican. They all have the ability to do a nationwide search, but they have all come up empty, (even though they list availability on their web site). The frustrating part for me is dealers and Porsche of America will not indicate when they will produce the part or redesign it. All they have done is offer their apologies. I'm stuck with towing expenses & of course it broke down 70 miles from home. The nearest dealer will not hold on to it, so another towing expense.

Do you know the reason for the malfunction? How many miles on your car?
