Installing lowering springs
Hi guys , Have a 911 turbo S 2017 991.2 convertible, can’t get to the top 3 strut bolts to change rear springs. The coupe model you fold down rear seats pull out rear liner to gain access my convertible has rear roll bar blocking access older turbo cars get access by folding rear convertible top forward pulling drip trays no luck with mine any ideas? Thanks with any help would appreciate!!

That was definitely the most time consuming part of the whole job, but it is doable.
Good Luck!!

6Speeddave - the ride is very comparable to stock, very nice and comfortable, even with this lowered stance. its an immediate feel and response. Hit the sport suspension, hit the canyons and the car flattens out brilliantly. Such a huge visual and driving difference. Car doesn't lean or wash out anymore, very flat and forgiving. The alignment after install are stock specs. I'm going to enjoy it and then take the time to figure out what else I would like.
PD Pedis - yes my car has FAL. it works perfectly. when I get time, i'll send photos with the lift activated and not.

I heard exactly this from the race shop that installed my lowering springs. The shop, Orbit Racing in West Palm Beach, told me it was a matter of time before the springs would lose their efficacy and the ride would suffer. They recommended TracTive equipment. I declined, deciding instead that I just wanted a lower ride height and didn't want to spend that much to do it right. So, I had them install just lowering springs - which is just another one of many bonehead decisions that will eventually bite me in the a$$.
Yup, the correct way is to get the complete set. I havent heard about the tractive kit, but I have heard of the Bilstein. I'm very happy with this kit and I'm convinced I did it the right way
Tractive Touring are two way adjustable rather than three way like Tractive Race as Touring utilise your own 991 turbo top mounts otherwise the dampers are very similar if not identical to Tractive Race. The entry price for Tractive with this new Touring Kit has virtually halved and very comparable price point with Bilstein nowadays. I've driven B16 Damptronic for 991 both comfort and clubsport available in Europe. The B16 are very good (especially for smooth German autobahns) but retain slight bounce/porpoise effect that is inherent in our 991s from the factory. The Tractive Touring are next level of refinement and damping control compared to anything our there on the market with zero porpoise effect and bounce in the system. Pagani and other very high end hypercar manufactures all switching from Bilstein to Tractive for good reason too. The lowering springs absolutely fine for light road use. But if you do the odd track work or road course go Tractive IMO as really not that expensive anymore
