I’ve never regretted over building (buy new Dodson), I have ALWAYS regretted under building.

 

It does look like Dodson requires the core so I understand the lack of factory units on the second hand market.
I've been doing a little poking on the web and am finding nothing.
One thread mentioned a reman-ed factory clutch for the Turbo application but it was from China and cost only $785.
Pretty sure that's one to avoid.

 

I saw that, I didnt know if it was worth trying, then why would you put a 795$ clutch on a car build costing 10x that nearly

 

I would say...definitely not worth it just in the labor costs alone should the clutch fail.

 

Very true. However, I am right around 660ish tq wise and its perfect so far.

I think he is suggesting you might want to swap clutches with him so he can push his setup a bit.
He really wants to avoid going Dodson for now.
Pretty sure he was just funnin' ya.

 

Me and Sam never had that convo, for peace of mind and reliability that is my personal opinion and hat i will do if i decide to do XR set up.
Sam is best in this business imo and sure he would suggest that i am sure to maximize.
