Needs help/advice, considering Softronics 991.1 TT Turbo Tune
Hi all, I have searched about feedback on Softronics tune for a 991.1 Turbo, difficult to come by user experience and results in stock car. Anyone have that tune and can you please share your experience.

Softronics is a great company and Scott is a pleasure to deal with. I had his tunes on a few of my past Porsche models. However, I think Cobb has really taken the market for the 991 platform though. My top picks would be Sam at Bydesign or Emre with ESMotor. You can’t go wrong with either. I would contact all and see who you feel comfortable with.

If you buy a COBB, you will absolutely need a custom tune from one of the better tuners. As dgreen78 points out, there are some good tuners to contact for that. But the standard tunes COBB offers are less than worthless on my car - I lost 6mph in the 1/4.

Go with the JB4 if you want a simple PNP device. Comes with 8 preloaded maps to choose from based on your mods and fuel used. With the optional bluetooth dongle you're able to connect the JB4 to your phone or android/tablet device. This will allow for map changing on the fly, real time live data of the car, as well as data logging all through your phone

Thanks Payam, I had first JB back in 2007 on my 335Xi...
Looks like there is a lot of wires to pass around and dismantling the wing for the 991TT JB4, not that minimally invasive...

No expert here - but My Cobb OTS Tune on a 991.1 TT - made a pretty good difference. Before I added Kline headers and exhaust and then went custom tune with Sam. But I had the regular tunes for a couple weeks and it was a noticeable difference. I have "heard" that OTS tunes on a 991.2 aren't really worth it - so custom tunes are way to go, if that's what you have.

Cobb has also refrained from acknowledging this change and providing a detailed explanation for why they did this, which lead many of us to believe that they were dealing with either a legal or regulatory issue.
Fortunately, you can still get a ProTune and get great performance matched to your specific car. This ends up being a safer way to go as your tuner can ensure that the dme isn’t pulling timing to avoid knock.
I have used Sam at ByDesign for my 3 cars and upgraded my tunes as I’ve continued modding. I’m sure there are others that are also great, but I can attest to the performance and high level of customer service from Sam.

The issue is that the Cobb OTS Tunes were neutered around v106 (now on v107). They used to provide very strong gains on the early maps, but they replaced them with the current tunes that provide some midrange torque but no real top end. Definitely not worth the premium they charge for the TTS platform (compared to their other tunes).

2 Sensor connectors and 1 OBD connector that passes through, it's fairly simple after you do it once.
