I Need New Tires
I have a 2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S (991) with Pirelli tires. It is a second car that has less than 20,000 miles on it. Great shape.
But the tires need to be replaced.
I merely drive it. I don't race it. I doubt I have had it over 120 mph, and even then it wasn't for long.
I want some tires that wear a little better but still provide the fun and performance of performance tires. But I'm sure I don't need racing tires.
I'm sure this is a topic of vigorous and great debate, but can anyone give me a suggestion for replacing the Pirellis with something that isn't quite so prone to wear?

With high performance comes low tread life. Can't get one without the other.
You should be able to just replace the rears now that match the front. We can usually double stint the fronts.
Buy 2 new Pirellis.
Or four new Michelin 4S.
If your rear tread wear if pretty flat, skip the alignment.

I switched from Pirelli to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and I’m very happy with them.

Pirellis that come on 911 are much louder than MPS4S and wear faster, from personal experience. The newer Pirellis (PZ4) are about the same from what I've heard (no first-hand experience yet). So I'd get MPS4S

"It is recommended that only matching tires be used on Porsche vehicles. Since many Porsche vehicles are fitted with differently sized tires on their front and rear axles, this means matching the tire make, tire type and N-specification. If a vehicle was originally delivered with N-specification tires that have been discontinued and are no longer available, it is recommended to change all four tires to a higher numeric N-specification design appropriate for that vehicle. Mixed tire types are not permissible."
There are several sets of Pirelli 305/30/20 N0 tires for sale on Rennlist, so the OP would have no issues finding them.

The conservative by-the-book response from the Tire Rack says not to mix N ratings.

Also, my experience with N0 Pirelli and Michelin MP4S is that they’re similar. I haven’t tried the N1 Pirellis. Michelins seem a bit quieter and ride a little better - but I don’t drive ***** to the wall enough to judge either at track speeds. I’m curious if anyone runs Continentals, though, since I have them on my Golf R and have been impressed (not that a 911 and a Golf can really be compared...)

Of the 3 brands as far as riding like rocks - Pirelli rides the hardest followed by Continental with Michelin the smoothest with less noise with all at the same tire pressures...in my experiences with several sets of each brand....on same and various 911s through the years....

where are you located? I have two Pzeros that are the right size with only 1700 miles on them. it's off my Lambo but Lambo dealer would not repair the nail and forced me to buy new rears. I had them properly patched and was planning on having them mounted on Lambo, when the rears wear but the rears are not wearing as fast as i thought. if you are local I can sell you tires cheap. I am near Seattle.
