My 2014 Turbo S was in very good shape when I purchased it 18 months ago, but with 42K miles and never PPFed, it did come with some inevitable minor road rash (100s of sand-blast pin ****** and a few touched-up paint chips) almost all on the nose, fenders, and hood. I was able to ignore it for the most part, because it looked awesome from 10 feet away. I also wanted to add PPF, on the front 1/3rd of the car because I drive the car a lot and wanted it protected. However, I knew that clear PPF was obviously still going to show all the imperfections.

A local PPF installer told me that he had an 8 mil mirror black PPF (not a color wrap), that he said he'd used on other black (non-metallic) Porsches, and he said it was a perfect match, would cover up all the minor imperfections, and protect the paint as well as clear PPF. I had a hard time believing that, but decided to give it a shot on the front 1/3rd of the car (nose, hood, front fenders, mirrors, windshield frame, rear fender flares, then do the entire car if it didn't match.

The sky was solidly overcast when I picked it up, but I was very pleased. I finally saw it in full sun today, and OMG, I am ecstatic. My 10-year car now looks brand new, and the mirror black film is a perfect match with the naked original paint. 2 ceramic coats were added on top of the entire car.

I cannot detect any difference between the film-covered fenders and the naked paint on the doors in any type of light.

Ok, for anyone that has installed the anti gravity, did you reinstall the bar across the top of the battery? It will cover the connect switch on the top of the li ion.... My thinking is that it's so much lighter, and smaller, may not be very helpful.

Also managed to drop the forward facing nut when taking it, so the car made me bleed for it today, despite giving it a wash and a new battery
...

Thankfully no but didn't want to tempt fate with this thing. Likely ignition or some safety latch on the Motec got tripped but it did decide to tell me that there's a driveable malfunction and skip igniting a bunch of times above 2K forcing return home and a trip to the shop out of an abundance of caution. We did plugs when we did the refresh but coils IIRC got skipped and i've seen several mentions on this forum of coils needing to be replaced every 15K on these built-up motors. Diagnostics in progress, doubt anything serious is afoot and might just be a software glitch in the end. Will get it sorted and back to bunching up asphalt again in no time.

Exactly. 103, just a few miles East of Echo Lake. Thats a pretty frequent twisty route for us, and the spot above] is our typical stop point for bull$h!ting and a photo op.

I admit I've taken countless pics at that exact spot on Squaw (Mestaa'Ėhehe) Pass, a few more below...

Great pics pfbz and you too Dennis. Nothing like mountains and trees - amazing.

pfbz - do you still have that Mclaren? I am sure you have done detailed write ups - but you still enjoying it?

Looks like they had to do something to control the overflow parking situation in that densely packed parking lot.

Absolutely absurd; you can no longer take your family to the beach for the 'day', as parking is limited to 3 hours.

This is in my neighborhood, and I signed the petition against it - to dictate how long someone may spend at a given location before their car is towed is so draconian, it just pisses me off to no end.

Finally got a CTEK charger so I can keep the battery topped up, as I drive it less during the summer since it's so dang hot, and my commute is less than 15 mis. RT, so plugged it in yesterday afternoon, was fully charged up by this morning, so good to go there.

In talks with Sam to get some stage of tune, haven't decided specifically what yet.
