@Big Swole ... Would it help getting you certified faster if all of us start requesting you as our instructor?

Not quite today but ran the Tail of the Dragon a couple weekends ago in TN/NC. Easily THE most amazing roads I've ever driven!

The car did great on the 14-hr highway trip each way and in the twisties. Pretty much stock but I finally found her limits (which strangely enough coincided with the end of my comfort zone ). No incidents or anything...we were good dance partners!

It's a fun route to test your driving skills. Quite a few other routes in the area that are fun but does not require your full attention to the road so you can enjoy the scenery simultaneously.

Glad you got to go and enjoy!! I LOVE my TTS on the Tail. The new payment has to get broken in and become a little less slick before I'll go back though.
Went up there with my 2SS1LE but it was at night so we didn't push it.

Great pic too btw!

Unfortunately not. They're adamant about each instructor getting the full experience with shooting and then filtering in later and then getting the blessing later.
I'm totally okay with it. I've been an instructor since 1992 technically but mainly delt with academy students and officers at my dept. So now teaching
more experience cops and civilians, as well as doing the "Glock" way, it's important that I follow how they want it done. Both my bosses are former military
and are very specific about how things are done. Not that there's any real "secret sauce", I mean shooting is NOT difficult but getting out of our heads and
employing the fundamentals while getting faster just take lots and lots of repetition and practice. Dry practice is SO important to getting better as well!!

If you hear "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" on repeat until a mild pervasive rage sets in: that's normal, helps simulate actual duress and stimulates the part of the brain which evaluates whether use of deadly force is appropriate

Yeah, I drove it about 15-20 miles tonight to go get dinner.

We're doing a Mountain drive in the AM, so they have another 200-250 miles by tmrw. evening.

It's an organized group drive so I doubt I'll get to test them too much.

They do feel a little more Direct in the steering though.

Nice... I've been running similar Apex Anthracite wheels on my 996 Turbo for several years now, they have been fantastic. Great looking, reasonably priced, super strong, very light. Makes for a winning combination...

Would love to get another set for my 991 Turbo S as well now that they make them in the correct sizes and centerlock fitment.

On my Polar Silver 2002 Turbo:

Did just a tic under 500 miles yesterday with 2 separate drives. lol
A buddy that couldn't make the morning drive decided to come up later.
So we waited on him and then did another 200+ miles on some different roads.
Almost hit a dear but we love Night drives. Good times!!!

About the Cup 2's....

I LOVED them!!! The second part of our day, we were able to carry a quicker pace and keep heat in them. There is DEFINITELY a difference in grip and feel.
Very sticky on the front end and a good bit more direct steering to them. Seems they pretty much got rid of the little bit of understeer my car had at a quick pace.
I know they will not be for every situation but for hot Summer (Low chance of rain drives) days, I will absolutely run the Cup 2's
