My wife is trying to cope with my lack of restraint, that is.

Still trying to decide if I go the VTG upgrade or full XR conversion route. Likely will go VTG. Starting with the coolers and working my way there.

It's a street car...how much powa do I really need??

As you well know from your 996, it is most certainly a slippery slope...

And it always starts with just one mod...

Sounds like your 2021 is going to be pretty awesome.

Ha, yep...thanks for reminding me. The guys I sold my last two modded cars to didn't seem to mind my lack of restraint. They're quite happy.

I'm thinking I could be pretty happy with a VTG build, mated with an E-Motion Engineering KW suspension setup. Car would be pretty bonkers.

Then again, I would have slipped all the way down the hill at that point.

If I can talk myself into keeping the car for 10 years, it would be a good plan. If I do the "build it and sell it 2 years later, after only a few thousand miles of driving" plan, it would not a good repeat performance.

Awesome thanks. I see you guys are out in CA – I'd likely need to find someone more local as the tips have to be removed etc.

I typically keep them for a long, long time...

Hey everyone, happy new years!

Hopefully 2021 will improve for everyone.

I am not off to a good start, as I left my phone at the restaurant last night....

Happy New Years Folks!

Let's hope 2021 allows for more drive time

I have to find time to install my Zunsport Grulls.

I have to find time to install my Zunsport Grulls.

This will literally take 30 minutes, if... And, it is possible to achieve the install without damaging anything else in the process.

Happy new year to you as well!

If you have adaptive cruise on 991.1 you have to use screws to secure the center grille into the plastic. So, like 35 minutes. If you're antsy about making holes in your car, this is an unpainted part that costs $100 from Porsche. Front bumper comes off pretty easily if you ever felt like you HAD to return it to stock, but you won't. Really adds a nice look in addition to the protection.

Mine is enroute from Zunsport. I know you have the 991.2 but do you have ACC? Let me know how the install goes so I know if it's something I can do myself or have done professionally. I plan to do the install sometime in the spring. Thanks

Super awesome winter drive this morning. Five buddies in five different 911's..
.
  • 930 Targa, beautiful example
  • 996 Turbo 6-speed X50, stock
  • 996 Turbo 6-speed, modified and very well sorted.
  • 997.2 C4S PDK, stock
  • 991.2 Turbo S, heavily modified
We all swapped off cars and had some seat time in each on mountain twisties. Remarkable how each one drove very differently, but each one unmistakably a 911. What an awesome experience, driving different generations of Turbos spanning ~35 years on the kind of roads perfect for Turbos!

As per normal, you have the best of friends - I see the Jeep didn't get a mention...
