Cool...I'll wait a little longer then to pull the trigger.

Hi. Ive never been on a dragstrip with this car.

I did a 9.7X at 144 on the vbox on a highway (in Mexico). DA was pretty low. On a very slippery airstrip in high DA conditions it was low 10's at 144.

Not very common but evidently it's happened to more than just a few cars. This was mine two weeks ago.

I'm currently trying to decide on my path forward.

Glue didn’t hold for two.

I just had this happen to my car at the track 🤬

Did you end up with another OEM?

Due to my indecision about doing more mods at the time (didn't want to do just y-pipe and not everything including IC's), I ended up with another stock Y-pipe.

However, I took proactive steps to see if I can curb this from happening again, so I went ahead and lined it with JB Weld around that seem.

That crap was LOUD when it blew up, wasn't it.

Here are my NEW Y-pipe with pics of my JB Weld job (messy). lol

Thank you. It was definitely loud, followed by no boost right as I was entering the brake zone on the main straight at Lime Rock. It ended up cutting my day short, but was fun to push the TTS at a new track.

I decided to go with the IPD y-pipe to prevent this happening again now or in the future. I didn’t go with the plenum upgrade, so hopefully no issues there…will look at that and the DO88 upgrades if/when I go with larger turbos.

The new y-pipe should be here Friday morning, and hopefully I can get it installed ASAP, I really have to thank the guys at IPD for hooking me up with a quick shipment!! 👊👊

Update:

Part arrived at 10am and I was up and running by lunch. Definitely won’t have to worry about this happening again with this part. Thanks again to IPD for the best customer service!!
