I bet they made a 100lb mistake. 3410 would be reasonable.

I had a Brushed Dark Smoke with clear on my F85. Not in the same league as Diamond Black.

Onfire:
for the record, I’m really digging this “biggest loser” thread! It’s been interesting to see all the OCD going on in here. Keep at it!

That weight is about right. A full tank of fuel is 105 lbs on these cars, so no fuel weight gets to 3405 lbs, and 5 gallons (what I load for a time attack lap) should bring it around 3,435 lbs.

My car is a non-sunroof. On its lightest spec, and 6 gallons of fuel it weighed 3,408 lbs on the SCCA scales. Where my car lost a lot of weight was on the exhaust system, back in 2017 it had Inconel Kline headers (I sold them), and I still have the lightest exhaust made for a TurboS, the Kline Inconel with 4 tubular silencers and no cats. My goal was to get the car to 3375 lbs with no fuel without touching the interior or the bodywork, and it actually got a little under the goal number.

Most monoball upgraded control arms are heavier than the stock parts (but also stronger). The body panels in the 991 Turbo S are very light, aluminum everywhere but the rear fenders and those you can't change.

I have seen 991 GT3RS at race shops in the 3300 and 3400 lbs range. Typical rear rollcages weigh around 65 lbs, with some exceeding 80 lbs, and few weighing under 50 lbs. Add harnesses and sub belt mounts, that's another 20+ lbs. On the GT3RS, the extended fuel tank is nearly 160 lbs when full. A GT3RS on steel brakes carries nearly a 46 lbs penalty over PCCB. Most tracked 991 GT3RS run the stock wheels, 20"/21" and plenty heavy. Bigger tires are heavy too.

At a track like Sebring, 100 lbs is a little over 1 sec gained per lap. To loose 10 lbs from where your car is would require the following:

1) removing all airbags
2) removing all the door and rear panels
3) removing the rear seats
4) removing all the carpets
5) removing the glovebox
6) removing the PCM

All this for a little over 100 lbs reduction. The A/C removal, including condenser, all aluminum lines, blower and controls is just 26 lbs.

At a track like Sebring, you can drop the same 1sec a lap with another 90whp, so add the larger VTG and re-tune.

...or simply get familiar with the car, work on getting the most out of it, and have a Pro driver take it out for a few laps, then you run your laps and look at the time difference, that's the difference we usually have to work with.

100% right. That's the best way to get to drop time. Only thing not mentioned is loosing some personal lbs. Based on your math i should be able to gain .3 seconds if i watch what I eat!!!! and cheaper

****, I wish I weighed my 3RS bumper but doing the conversion removed enough weight that my girlfriend noticed the nose is a tad higher

Underrated thread so il update with my findings.

17 porsche turbo S with Sunroof

never got a baseline but nonetheless, we did the following mods:

lightweight AG battery - saving of 41lbs
removal of all tools and extinguisher - 13lbs
removal of wiper fluid - 10lbs
Catless exhaust - saving of 25lb
2 Tillett B1 carbon buckets with lightweight bracket and sliders - 34 lbs (saving of 94lbs)
Removal of back seats - 20lbs

things that added weight back:

Big intercoolers
meth kit/pump

the car now weighs 3447 lbs with half a tank of fuel and a full tank of methanol (2.5 gals)

Id like to add some BBS but only if i found them used for a decent price

happy to contribute and enjoyed reading this post

Happy to see your progress, and the AG battery and Tillet B1 carbon bucket seats made a HUGE difference. Bravo! I hope you can feel the results of your weight loss modifications too.

Hi onfireTTS,

When you weighed your car right after delivery with full fuel- what driver and passenger seats was it equipped with?

May have missed it. Does anyone know the difference in weight between PCCB's (with hat) and iron discs?

Hard to believe the back seat removal only saves 20 lbs.
Just my rear seat back feels like more than that when I fold it down.
Are u putting in a GT3 carpet set with rear seat delete?
Why not just leave your lithium battery in?
