Spoiler not raising automatically at 75mph - has anyone experienced this?

If you saw my other thread, I just got my 991.2 turbo s a couple days ago. I noticed that, while the spoiler works fine if activated via button, it is not raising automatically at 75mph. I couldn't find any setting that could correct this so planning to take it to the dealer. Any easy fixes before going to the dealer? I couldn't find anything on the manual and there is no error message on the dashboard. Thanks

Try putting it in Sport Plus and it should raise then. I think in normal mode it doesn't raise much but when I open the sun roof I can see the spoiler move

I believe it adjusts at 2 positions at speed.......normal mode and sport is not deployed as open as Sport Plus.........I set mine open all the way open all the time with Individual mode..........

My car is currently at dealer. My spoilers work at start up and when I press the button or sport plus; however in sport at 80 MPH I get an error, see pic, then I can no longer control the spoilers until next start up. Error goes away @ 50 MPH, but still inoperable.

Thanks for the responses. I am definitely not getting the error message so maybe the spoiler is just raising to the 1st position and I am not seeing from my rear view mirror. I do the adjustment in individual mode and see if that does it. Thanks

I think if you open the sunroof it will raise higher and you will see it in the rear mirror. Try that.

This is nearly identical to the failure I had. Repair details in this thread:

Thanks! I had license plate holes filled and the body shop must have kinked the line. The spoiler was working fine when picked up. Can't imagine the control module went bad but my guy Kevin at town P will find it.

I'll share this info with him as well. I'll post fix in my case. Thanks again.

What Mods are you thinking about if any? I'd like to do several with my 2014 TTS but Im not really sure what to do or actually why as the car seems perfect.

The rear spoiler has two raised positions, as mentioned above. The front spoiler does too. The first rear spoiler position is activated at 120 kph (74.6 mph), and it’s not visible in the rear view mirror. It can be seen in the driver’s side mirror if you look hard, but it’s not easy to see. In practice, my rear spoiler raises when my speedometer hits an indicated speed of 77 - 78 mph. The second position is activated at 150 kph (93.2 mph). It can be seen in the side mirrors as well as the rear view mirror. The rear spoiler raises to maximum height position, and the angle of attack changes. Mine raises predictably at an indicated 93 mph.

I had some problems with my spoilers after a radar detector installation, but that turned out to be a pinched air line for the front spoiler. It impacted the performance of both spoilers, but there was an error message on the dash.

Good luck troubleshooting.

The spoiler does not raise much at 75 and is hard to see from your mirror. Try looking at it from your side mirrors. If you can raise it manually it should be ok or it should through an error message. If you open your sun roof it will raise higher and is more visible.

We found the problem. A hole in the bladder from the Body Shop.... ouch. This is going to cost them 4K.

If you look at the video in this thread, you will notice that the 75mph position is different to the sport plus position. I can't see the spoiler in the 75mph position, only in the Sport Plus position.

Can someone tell me the reasoning behind the spoiler raising up more when the sunroof is open?

Open sunroof causes airflow over the top of the car to separate from the roof farther from wing. So the wing has to be higher to get to non-turbulent air.

For the same reason the wing raises higher at higher speeds: The faster you go the farther forward the airflow separates from the roof. Airflow doesn’t follow the roof line down to the wing so the wing has to ‘reach up’ to grab it so that the wing can do its job of providing rear downforce.
