Default Spoilers no longer coming on automatically????

I have a 2014 turbo , and fairly recently the spoiler stopped coming up on its own. I can press the button on the console and the front and rear spoiler will both deploy and when I press the button again they will return to the off position. So they clearly are still functional but seem to only happen when done manually. Any ideas ??

Very common when similar type devices begin to age. No longer come up without additional external inputs...pink pills, etc. You may just have to push its buttons for the rest of its life.

I think it’s broken.

Yeah if it has to be done manually from here on out I honestly don’t mind it’s no big deal, it was more curiousity of the “why”

Are you in warranty? I would certainly want to get it fixed if it were my car.

I am under warranty still I’m pretty sure . When I took it in the dealership for normal routine maintenance and mentioned the issue ,they were talking as though it would not be covered under warranty. Maybe it’s time to change dealerships , I’ve had a couple issues with this one . Some of it being lack of professionalism of salesmen ( which happened at both Porsche dealerships closest to me) and other car related stuff.

I have the same exact issue on my 991.1! Spoilers no longer deploy unless I press the button. I'll have Porsche look at it next time the car is in for service.

Do you receive an error message when the spoilers are supposed to move?

How do you know if they’re not deploying? They’re not supposed to deploy automatically until you sustain speeds over 75 mph, and even then, only partially deploy. When only partially deployed, I can’t tell from inside the car as I can’t see them. Do you have a friend in another car telling you from outside at speed?

Need4S is correct. If your sunroof is open and you go to 75mph it should be visible if it is working. It deploys higher when sunroof is open.

The only time that I ever had a spoiler failure, I received an error message when I gained enough speed for the spoilers to deploy. Mine turned out to be a pinched air line in the front of the vehicle that was preventing the front spoiler from deploying in the allotted time.

How do you know it is not coming up by itself? Unless you have the sunroof open, you usually can't see it in the mirror because it is below the window. Did you check with a rear dash cam?

See this thread. Only the sport plus (manually deployed position) and the sunroof open positions are visible from rear view mirror.

What’s weird is at one point something popped up (message displayed) I think it said spoiler loss. That was weeks ago, happened for a week or two but haven’t seen it pop up since .
So when the spoiler comes up automatically at 76mph you can’t tell by looking out the rear window of the car ? I guess I was thinking it was supposed to be visible out the back .Is spoiler only visible out the rear window when console button is pushed manually to get spoiler to full height? Or does it go to full height automatically at some higher speed?

also I never have once opened the sun roof , so the spoiler loss notice on dash happened when it happened sun roof was closed .
