Default Birch Green GT3

We are in Germany with Autobahn Adventures on one of their Luxury European Driving Tours and we were driving past the Porsche dealer in Baden Baden and this GT3 caught my eye so I had to stop and take some pictures. The car was locked so I could not verify the color code but it looks like Birch Green to me. Can anyone confirm by looking at the pictures? Also check out www.autobahnadventures.com They run an all-inclusive European driving program with the latest model 911, 5 star hotels, great food and wine. Highly recommended.

I get the PTS speciality, but this color is horrible. I have no idea why this would sell quickly as it's a color only a mother could love. I would take the mahogany over this is a heartbeat. I hear a lot of concern around resell, and what's the acutal loss on a bad color choice for resale? Just curious because I have never purchased a car for resale, and my view it's a depreciating asset to enjoy/nothing more.

This looks like the color of the vomit in the first Exorcist movie........ but..... it's a GT3 and I could still love it as my own.

This color would be free on a KIA, or Ford Focus which my gut says they sell as a free color choice. GT3 or not I wouldn't drive it just like a wouldn't drive a Mary K pink car.

Not my cup of tea, but I have to admit that it is unique and grabs attention. I can see the appeal for some though. IMO, it might work better with non-black headlights and red tail lights. Maybe it's the image of the lime gold metallic boxster in the background that's spooking me!

This is a very difficult color to photograph. When I was considering PTS I ordered a sample of this paint (253 paint code, lichtgrun aka birch green) and it is very close to the acid green seen on the 918 and now the e-hybrid brake calipers. Clearly not for everyone however.

Default Yes, it's most likely 'lichtgrün'...

Yes, it looks like 'lichtgrün / Light Green' (which historically was called Birch Green in earlier times at Porsche). We have reported this particular MY2014 991 gt3 before on this forum...along with two photos of it. The last shot is of a confirmed .997 .2 gt3 RS in San Diego. Remember, a camera lens often distort the actual color. There is an off-chance that RA KF1 could be Gelbgrün, code 137 rather than 'Lichtgrün'. But my guess is the latter. To be sure, we need confirmation of the color from the owner or his dealer. In any case, I think the color is positively stunning and beautiful!

Keep up the good work, Aussie!

Saludos,
Eduardo

Lots of hating going on here. Sheesh, if you think this GT3 is ugly, then I don't know what to say. I think it is bad *** to the bone. Eduardo agrees with me and that puts me on the correct side of this debate!
Cheers Eduardo!
