I can't imagine what a 600hp 10k rpm street GT3 would sound like at full chat. Please do this Porsche!

Got to love Porsche.
Its a good problem to have.............enticing us with faster and faster cars. I am digging the active hood vents............just like the Ferrari F40.

If they can get the car to 550HP NA it will be epic. It would be even better if Porsche Motorsport put the GT2RS into GTLM and we would have WW3 at the race tracks and Balance of Porsche , BoP , would become very very interesting.

McLaren, Ferrari, Ford et all could uncork their engines and run wide open...........Porsche GT2RS would be making close to 900HP easily..........like the good old days of 935s

I expect and would want a 550 hp gt3 RS. It is likely to happen.

The 997 Gt2 RS was 620 hp. The highest 997 Gt3 RS was 500hp. A differential of 120 hp.

This time with a 700 hp Gt2 Rs I doubt the differential will be any more than 150 hp.

Also the 997 GT2 was 530 hp. It would be lame if the Gen 2 991 Gt3 RS only had the same power as that.

I know porsche only dribbles its hp increases. But with it's big boy competitors in an essential hp race, lurching north of 700 hp porsche will need to step it up a bit and conveniently also increase their pricing as they seem to be doing recently.

Nope. RS is about going fast and lap times.

The only thing I wish the RS would offer is the Gt3 inside door handles. I don't like the door strap handles. I would rather loose some time on my lap and keep normal handles for a street car. Unnecessary drama by porsche in my opinion.

If it happens which I doubt. His swing will be that the GT2 RS is about maximizing speed and lap times. Therefore we now offer manual option for the GT3 RS. But I would bet on a Pdk only on Gt3 RS.

Why spend stupid money to reduce weight, then reinvest that weight reduction and add stuff to make the RS beefier & muscular. Then slow it down again with a manual. That's why the Gt3 manual is already there.

Why stop at 4.2L?

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...l#post14139731

Jamie@dundonmotorsports;

On the engine side I spoke a bit at Smokies:
Phase 2 of the Spyder build is 4.5L bore and stroke. The fruit of this will allow us to easily make 4057cc (4.1L) engines with just a bore and big piston swap, 4167cc (4.2L) with stroker crank and new rods and 4.5L for the full meal deal. First parts are finishing design/mfg. These parts also apply to other 9A1's including the 991 GT3 and RS, but have to fix the valve train first...

Actually, don't be surprised if it is a 4.3. I hear that AP has the desire to ultimately develop the GT3 RS to the level that it beats or matches the 918 ring time. Only increased capacity will get them there.

I heard 10.0L Flat 6. Pistons the size of Folgers Coffee tins.

On a serious note, there are 16 seconds between the 918 and the 991.2 GT3 official times. 992 generation could absolutely do it with the expected enhancements in: tires, power, aero.

Nothing would surprise me at this point. Their GT car offerings are now so diverse, they have opened the doors to do whatever they want pretty much. Turbo, manual, PDK, mid engine, rear engine.....a car for everybody. Pretty good strategy when you are in the business of selling cars to enthusiasts with money.

I'd love to grab a manual RS.....but even with an MSRP allocation, you are talkin about a $200K car with just a couple "must do" options like buckets, and some leather interior. Jesus.

If the motor is 4.2 or 4.3....I would imagine we are going to have to pay a premium for it, moreso than the .2GT3. I kinda feel like the .2GT3 with it's completely re-worked motor is a little of a mea-culpa for the last fiasco...it's definitely a much bigger development than say the 3.6 to the 3.8 in the 997 generation for roughly the same cost increase.

Who knows, sure is fun speculating though...

Or large weight loss, but seems like this is beyond anyone's appetite at Porsche (unfortunately)...
