No LWFW- who cares. Would rather have this Engine all day long

No Mag roof/CF Roof- Who cares !! Can't tell from looking at it and overall weight saving negligible

The "R" is a great car and will not disputed. But the .2 GT3 will be both a better road and track car

But we are getting all this at a savings- Love it

I agree 100% here.
Only addition I have to the above is, it will me much cheaper to fix the non CF and Mag panels if ever needed.

+1. Sadly I am seeing more and more evidence of this.

I wouldn't sell a GT3 or RS until I had a build sheet!

991.2 GT3 will be a better track car. But I honestly don't think it's the better road car.

The 911R is so unique in it's abillity and the way it goes about things. (Drove one on on a tight track this week, just magnificent).

I would say there will be as many .2 GT3 produced as the RS.

Which means there will be more produced than the .1 (if you believe some who say there was more .1 RS's made than .1GT3's).

I think it's probably quite instructive that everyone who actually has driven the R (non journalist) has noted it drives in a very unique way. It would be a surprise if the .2 gt3 was tuned to drive in exactly the same way imo so I am somewhat surprised how confident many here are that the gt3 would definitely be the better road car. 'Better' for a road car of course being much more subjective than for a track car as well....

Factually that's incorrect because VIP program buyers paid MSRP for their cars. The cars you see for crazy prices are being resold, and that's no different than a 997RS 4.0 being sold for 500k. By the way the .2 GT3 is faster. I really see speed and lap times being a foolish comparison because one car is numbered, and it has value to the person that chooses to pay for it because they want it.

Remember every R owner/VIP program has first dibs on all .2 GT3's ....if they want thay can take first allocations just because they can, and than flip. Just saying(:

Everyone I know paid MSRP for their 911R. That made it a $200K car and insured that production quickly sold out when offered to Porsche's VIP clients. Cars be may offered at $500K today or $400K in 6 months, but few cars if any are actually trading for that kind of money. It's not the ones you see advertised that set the market, its the ones you don't hear about which involve an actual transfer of funds. Despite what some may think, most of us didn't make our money to just throw it away.

More like $200K for nicely optioned. $160K will get you the bare bone plus couple options
