Went for ride with friends. One of which had forgotten to charge Di.
So we decided to do small chainring challenge for all. 53 miles in small chain ring (with cross-chain lockout on last two gears on casette, of course) average 17.5 mph. Figured since it is all flat around here, good training for CA.... maybe.

any route with good cookies is good
no good snack this side. but if we do coastal loop (we only see the coast for 1 mile ha) there's a funky cafe we can stop at.

I'l never be as cool as Mooty and I am stuck living in miserable NYS with crap weather, salty roads, and high taxes but at least I can live vicariously in Zwift... Today I did my best Mooty impression after a nice group ride... My Venge does not allow custom colors so I tweaked my Shiv accordingly
For some Porsche content I picked up my race bike yesterday from my LBS which was out for carbon repair due to a expensive training crash last year.
And while I don't like to drive my GT4 this time of year because of the salt, I can at least be excited about the track upgrades that DeMan has in process!

i stand corrected. they blur together for me, though i do love my Tarmac SL6. i had a bad disc brake squeeling issue for a while. first thing i learned, not sure why i didnt know it but disc on road is kind of new to me...dont use any normal degreaser or race car/car brake cleaner to clean the rotors as they put an oil material in a lot of those to keep the cleaned metal from rusting. finish line makes a very nice disc brake cleaning solution. then ultimately, i had to have shimano warranty the calipers they were just problematic. ive been told they have a revamp coming to help with the calipers. apparently some 'seep' oil around that piston. there is a test they suggest putting paper between the piston and the brake pad backing. rubbber band your brake lever full shut leave over night. if the paper is oiled up, your caliper is seeping.they sent me a new one, no noise. some 200 grit sand paper also helped to recondition rotors.
dudes, went on the road today, was 28 at the start, got in 2 hours of 30minute nice tempo intervals then it started flurrying and thankfully we got out of hariman state park before winter wonderland started. 3 more years and my youngest is out of college and im moving to arizona. cant stand the cold no more.
soronous. - congrats on the deman track machine. rick is one of the best builders, and his cages are super nice and safe. where do you run on track? im a member at njmp if you ever want to hook up. i take the bike down there, there is a great 90minute loop i can bang out at 6am done showered for the track day.

I am just starting down the slippery track slope. I only started 2 years ago and it was hard to find the time with the cycling hobby being so time consuming plus career and family duties. Now I am an empty-nester and I pulled off possibly the greatest marriage coup of all time. I introduced my wife to HPDE and somehow she loves it?!! Last year we did Lime Rock and Palmer. This year Watkins is top priority with Mont Tremblant, Tamworth, and NJMP as other tracks we want to fit in. If I head down your way I will look you up, thank you!
Here is my wife having fun on a late summer day at Palmer:
