I think I am going to get banned from this thread as I have stopped eating pastries. But I will throw in some camping/offroad pics to even things out. After all, hiking is what you do when your truck breaks down. The fire shooting log was hollow which gave the cool effect. Any rover people around? Mine was the only NAS defender at the event. I even slept in her. They have all been bought up by rich people who don’t use them. ☹️ Just like the fancy Porsches (save some present company).

Nice Zank. I took the MTB out this morning, no car is nice on a bike. A friend of mine hit a car going down Hwy 9 last week end at 30mph, the guy was doing an illegal U-turn. He is OK but pretty banged up.
Right now the smoke smell is pretty strong in Mountain View.

Quick drive to the coast this morning in the p-car, and then back for a "break in" ride on my new hand built Zanconato. Strong winds and a lot of ash thru Woodside/Portola Valley on the way out. Hope the fires don't spread even worse up North, although someone was telling me 80 mph gusts were recorded on the mtn peaks in Sonoma.
Old School Zanc, all mechanical with Dura Ace and rim brakes - no charging required :

What event were you at? I love those old Defenders. Looks like you had plenty of room sleeping in the back. Hard to do that with the new SUV's/trucks

R.O.V.E.R.S. Club fall trials event in Robesonia, PA. Held twice a year, call and spring. Basically drive through gates in an old quarry, hit a gate, that’s your score. Good times and nice people. As far as sleeping, I pulled the center cubby and I had plenty of room and I am 6’2”. Not as nice as my old long wheel base Range Rover, but still perfectly comfortable.
If I can get time, I am going to Winter Romp in Maine. That one is a lot of fun. NAS defenders are stupid money, but for the price of a set of cup2 tires you can get a discovery and have fun.

Just was cleaning up my 97 D90 (in AA Yellow) this afternoon. Bought it new, still under 25k miles. Will admit it hasn’t seen much dirt lately, end up going tp play in the Safari more. Sometimes I wish I had kept one of the 2 93 NAS D110’s I had. So classic looking.

I keep having to remind myself that perfect is the enemy of done.
unfortunately, NAS 110 make pre-galvanized Porsches look rust free, so even the nice ones have issues that can only be remedied by a restoration.

outages are mostly in NorCal but the winds are coming back to SoCal tomorrow.
power where I’m at is good. No fields. Just concrete palm trees and ocean.
Get off the coast and into the mountains and yeah, you get fall, a bit where Mooty is too. Most of our trees are evergreen so you don’t get the color like the Midwest and northeast.
really we have 2 seasons where I’m at
shorts and flip flops
Sweatshirt, shorts, and flip flops.
And yeah i can heel toe in them
