This car's color is called "Pearlescent Effect White", code 947. It's a very special pearl white, reminiscent of the color on the 959 concept car back in the 80s. There is more pearl content than Oryx White (hence it is more expensive), which is another pearl white color, with a hint of yellow hues.

Blue wheels? My eyes are still blinking in discomfort.

Local is the Minneapolis area. BTW- this owner also owns FOUR 918's.

Same here. Colored wheels like that just scream clown car to me, even when it's a beast like this. Maybe he can use it in a Shriner's parade.

Hey, he has three to choose from, so he has choices. Good for him!

Personally, I think it's a bit of a waste to make an R look like a GT3 or a GT3 RS look-a-like. I think the car deserves a slightly more subtle treatment.

Walter Rohrl's R is a great example

Agree with CJ. Love it. Not bad on the 996 either.

Default 'Local Hero'...

I met the owner of this 911R & 918's at Rennsport V.
At that time he had just three 918's that he ordered
from new. And thus his 3 911R's make sense (3 918s,
3 VIP allocations & voila...3 911 R's!). And he was quite
the gentleman too...and a very kind hearted spirit!

Here is a post I wrote on the 918 forum after that
encounter, just before he let me drive his 918 back
to where he had it parked by the PCA hospitality tent:

in attendance (around 14) were invited to do a few laps during the lunch time break. I was standing
by Turn 5, which is where the lap cars were going in & out. I saw him exit the track after his laps.
But instead of returning immediately to the PCA island where he was parked all weekend, he just
stopped next to where I was standing and helped his passenger get out of the car. The passenger
was a young man that was a paraplegic. The 918 owner/driver helped the man into his wheelchair,
which his friends had brought to where the car was now standing. He briefly talked to his passenger,
exchanged contact information & then the young paraplegic man & his friends left.

As the owner was getting ready to get back into his 918 to leave, I approach him and introduced
myself. I told him that I had seen pictures of this particular 918 posted at Rennlist by 162435 on
this thread and I had myself written a thread on Rennlist about the special treatment given to a
few final 918s, which went into great detail about the color scheme used on his car:

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...r-stories.html

We talked for a few minutes on that subject and then I asked him about the paraplegic passenger
who had just gotten out of his car. It turned out he was a 'Wounded Warrior', a US military veteran
from either Iraq or Afghanistan, whom he had just been introduced & decided to offer him an e-ticket
ride around Laguna Seca on his 918 super car. It was a memorable ride which I am sure the young
veteran will never forget! And it gives you glimpse of the kind heart & generosity of this particular
918 owner that hails from the state of Minnesota.
