No I wouldn't. That's why I'm way down on the wait list I didn't get on it until the manual was announced.

Apparently over on the Nissan forums there's heavy pecker measuring according to whom drives a manual or not.
Honestly that's my takeaway from this forum.. Some far more knowledgeable individuals than I, on this board that I hope to learn from..

Regarding his mt z comments, I just lol'd..

I have a 996 GT3, which I have owned since new. Also got a new GT4 last year. I have an allocation for new GT3 Spring/Summer 2018 delivery with a manual. Just saying that if new car was not offered with a manual I had no interest, regardless of the fantastic new engine.

Being doing DE's for 23 years and unless you are racing or trying for ultimate lap times, the manual is the way to go.

I'm just saying, if the GT3 is as amazing as I hear it is, then the transmission shouldn't matter. It obviously comes down to personal preference. Yes, I'm coming from a GTR and I'm slightly biased towards dual-clutch, lol.

Same. Which is why I haven't been a steady participant here (always enjoy reading/stalking RL). Have been passing the time in a '13 E92 M3 6-spd ZCP (ESS 625/Ohlin/Akra), has been a solid daily-driver. Was able to track down an out-of-state late '15 991.1 allocation, and ultimately passed after failing to get in sync with a local PDK GT3. It was exact engine/ride quality/capability I was looking for that the 997.2 didn't fulfill, it just needed a 6-spd. I realistically only have time & desire for 2-4 track events a yr @ HPR given other more favorable hobbies and family life, rest of experience is street. And since I don't commute in traffic, a manual just makes sense for me.

FF a few years later, still in the heavy highway monster M3 V8 ESS, the glorious GT3 6-spd dream has finally come true. Of course no allocation since I have no relationship with our 2 local dealers, but willing to pay a small ADM after the first wave of GT3's hit the US. Have already waited this long, may as well wait towards end of cycle. Even though I've yet to drive it, and perhaps I'm obtuse for thinking this, but the specs appear just at the cusp of reason between 6-spd and need for dual clutch to truly ring out it's capacity. Competently ripping through gears 1-3 in an especially high HP spec can get tiring/old pretty quick in manual, a gear range which is 95+% of spirited quasi-legal street driving.

So excited for the .2. Just became full RL member yesterday! Let's get the show on the road...

Well, I guess it would serve me best to test drive, let's say, a Cayman GT4 and then a 991.1 GT3 to see which transmission I like best for a NA P-Car.

What is interesting is ROW car enthusiast are dumfounded over the apparent love of MT in the US. Europeans who have been driving MT for years are ordering PDK in droves. Many have expressed puzzlement why US drivers would want MT. To each his own.

Well Europeans' jeans are probably too tight to comfortably operate the clutch.

There is always someone with more experience and more knowledge. I'm still in my 30s and have been lucky enough to afford a few of these amazing cars.
So far my Porsches are MT. I grew up driving stick and absolutely love the feel of rowing gears. Even on track.

However. When driving the 997gt2rs I lusted for a PDK. In my 997rs4.0 I love the MT. So all cars are different and some are more suited for a certain gearbox.
The 991 gen cars feels great with the PDK. I cant wait to drive the MT and see how it works as a total package.

What's interesting is that you base that on zero proof. Maybe your gut feeling is telling you so? Maybe you've read a couple of posts on here where the European poster is saying he wants to be fastest around the track and that he doesn't want manual because his grandma has been driving them since before he was born? Sure, the pdk take is higher than manual, but that's pretty much everywhere. In the US we might end up with a surprise but it remains to be seen...

I'll personally believe the European and Global numbers at the end of production : as accurate as they might be released...we all know Porsche doesn't really release production numbers.

About 85% of all Porsche's delivered world wide are PDK. The US has the highest percentage of MT. What would you conclude from those numbers?

That people are confused and missing out on the best option?
