The call of the next great Porsche

The call of the next great Porsche
Just got through some self examination.
I remember saving up for my first Porsche, a used 996 C4S, and enjoying it for a few years. Then came the updated 997, and traded in the 996 for the new Porsche with the better engine. Then came the 991 and the sleek styling and couldn't resist the temptation.
Just a few hours ago I agreed to pay a little over MSRP to order a 2018 GT3 with a manual. The realization that there will never be the last Porsche just struck me. The newest car is always a better car, true or not, that impression then grows into a feeling, then into the need for the newest.
I might be over my head, but I'm going into a GT3 with plans of some occasional track days, but mostly some early morning weekend solo drives in some of the better twisty roads here in the Bay Area.
I rationalize everything I do now as living without any regrets, enjoy while I can, since turning 50 this year, I'm convinced it's all downhill from here.
We all have different passions in life, and most of us here share the enjoyment we get from these cars. Hope to connect with you enthusiasts with some proud pictures soon.

First Porsche also used 996 C4S.
Then 997.1 RS, 991 GT3, GT4, 997.2 RS. Still have the last two. Had a blast in the first one though.
Waiting for allocation to come thru on 991.2 GT3. They are all good just some better than others.

Having said that, I have serious issues with your statement " it's all downhill from here."
If you think that your statement is true, it will be...as someone who is a touch past 50, there is soo...much more to live for!
Bottom line....If you think that you're done....you're done!

Congrats. I stretched to get into my first GT3 and I don't regret it or any GT since at all.
Life is short. Live it to the fullest....and please don't come back posting about resale value...just the miles you've driven

50 is the new 28
you might want to consider adding full leather for a small $ increase.

Congrats on the car!
But I disagree that new is always better. The next GT3 could possibly be a turbo, which will definitely not be better no matter the amount of rationalization
One of the reasons I'm so anxious for a .2
