I think this would make a better job than any dedicated system in a car like GT3:

And it should fit the cup holder!![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)

An active system just means there aren't passive crossovers. It means there is a digital processor for eq and crossover points. It probably ises a single digital amp and separate processor. I'm guessing under 5 lbs. The speakers are probably pretty light too. My guess is that the full system with subwoofer is probably 20 lbs more than the stock system.
Light you say, but you think the Bose extra 4 speakers including subwoofer and amp is likely closer to 20 lbs more vs 10 lbs more than the stock system?

Trevin just get the bose. 1600 amortized over the course of 16000 miles is a like buying one iTunes song per jolly drive.
I am very happy to not have a radio in my R, my 350R, my RSA, etc but those are occasional cars for canyon drives not traffic weapons. My m5 has a nice stereo.

Heard the Bose in a .2 the other day and it definitely sounded better than the one in my '14 981. More importantly, I recently switched to Tidal lossless music service and I'm in love with it. I didn't expect much, but the quality difference is very noticeable. A little more expensive than Spotify/Pandora, but worth it IMO. Even makes the Bose in my new Tahoe sound good.

I find the SPP in the RS to be perfectly acceptable. Wife has the Bose in her Macan and it's definitely better. For long rides, I would think even a marginally better audio system would be worth it. As much as I love the sound of the engine, there are long expanses of highway at 3k RPM's at steady state throttle where I'm not hearing much engine and appreciate music.

I notice you are a current owner of a GT3 so you are no doubt intimate with all the noises that a GT3 makes both in the city and especially on the Hyway at a steady cruise in 7th where, due to its shorter gearing, its revving around 1,000 rpm higher at any given speed compared to a regular 991.
So amongst all this noise, how anybody can hear any music at a so-called acceptable "audiophile" level is beyond me. IHMO, the BOSE system, or indeed even the std music system, is a waste of time and money in a GT3. I listen to the engine.
