Yes, I think that's one of the few things they throw in with the 911 (and not the Boxster/Cayman).

Appreciate your knowledgeable answer.

Light you say, but you think the Bose extra 4 speakers including subwoofer and amp is likely closer to 20 lbs more vs 10 lbs more than the stock system?

Have you thought of putting in the Bose subwoofer quick release module?

To remove it for track days.

Trevin just get the bose. 1600 amortized over the course of 16000 miles is a like buying one iTunes song per jolly drive.

I am very happy to not have a radio in my R, my 350R, my RSA, etc but those are occasional cars for canyon drives not traffic weapons. My m5 has a nice stereo.

Not concerned about the cost, just the weight.

Exactly, that's why I just keep working out, losing body weight.

Heard the Bose in a .2 the other day and it definitely sounded better than the one in my '14 981. More importantly, I recently switched to Tidal lossless music service and I'm in love with it. I didn't expect much, but the quality difference is very noticeable. A little more expensive than Spotify/Pandora, but worth it IMO. Even makes the Bose in my new Tahoe sound good.

I don't listen to music in any of my porsches. We'll see if the new sport Turismo delivers.

I find the SPP in the RS to be perfectly acceptable. Wife has the Bose in her Macan and it's definitely better. For long rides, I would think even a marginally better audio system would be worth it. As much as I love the sound of the engine, there are long expanses of highway at 3k RPM's at steady state throttle where I'm not hearing much engine and appreciate music.

I hear you Chris. Sometimes you need some tunes.

So amongst all this noise, how anybody can hear any music at a so-called acceptable "audiophile" level is beyond me. IHMO, the BOSE system, or indeed even the std music system, is a waste of time and money in a GT3. I listen to the engine.
I agree with this. There is so much background noise in a GT car, you wont really appreciate any sound quality improvement between the two. I daily my GT4 and I have pretty much given up on listening to music in it. Strangely, I dont even miss it...
