I like having the feature. I must admit, I use it sometimes.

Sport mode doesn't adjust the throttle response. Just auto rev matches.

Yep.
In Sport it runs cooler(it will right away drop the coolant temperature when Sport depressed),but no worries : we've discovered you do not need to depress Sport to run cooler, the DME will automatically detect you are driving aggressively and drop the coolant temperature. It's all emission related : these cars run at " unheard of " before coolant temps in regular driving...235-240F. An older regular car would have the fans at full blast at 212 F.

FWIW seems like the RS can also tell hard driving and cool more.
Does run hot, but never gets hotter and hotter. I've never backed off in the worst heat.

Can't wait to get my 10 track day 3k mile oil report from Blackstone labs.

Absolutely! The way I understand it,there's a bypass on the thermostat housing with a valve. Whenever the computer senses aggressive driving,it opens the valve and circulates the coolant through the 3rd radiator...thus coolant temps drop, followed by oil temp.
But when you press the Sport button, pdk Sport in your case, the computer circulates coolant through the 3rd radiator no matter how you're driving...

On track I can't tell the difference temps or otherwise.

I simply like a manual transmission because I get it wrong all the time.. Sometimes over rev, wrong gear selection, hold a gear too long, hold it not long enough. All these permutations makes for a more interesting drive.. I have a number of other cars that do everything perfectly with little involvement. Quite, better stereos, comfortable seats, easy to get in and out off..
