Well- there is always some one who thinks this thru- I think you may be right. Maybe they win with the PDK in 2017 and the Manual in 2018
actually I may have been too smart - not sure when they actually undertake the test - but the results in the magazine were late last year, so maybe a Sept build manual will make it in time.
^ Take a look at any published lap times out there...the .2 GT3 does not even come close to the GT R. The GT R is also more expensive; the GT C and GT3 have identical MSRP.

I understand the close MSRP. However, I can honestly tell you that Mercedes is comparing the GT R to the GT3.
AMGPorsche GT/Roadster911 Carrera S/Cab GT S911 GTS GT C/Roadster 911 Turbo/Cab GT R 911 GT3
The GT S competes with the 911 GTS, they do not have the same MSRP either. Not all cars have the same MSRP. Not trying to be rude just saying. Ferrari, Mclaren, Lamborghini, and Porsche do not have the same MSRP but have models that compete.
Look, the 911 range and the AMG GT range are very different vehicles overlapping in the same price segment. None directly compete in terms of price or performance. The truth is they have almost nothing in common. When the GT R was first introduced the .1 GT3RS was still in production, and they were compared by various publications. The GT C coupe has had almost no press, but it is a lot closer to the GT R than the Carrera GTS...or Turbo...is to a GT3. If you would like to think of the .2 GT3 and GT R as competitors, by all means go right ahead.

You're right there is not much comparison, however I can tell you Mercedes themselves think the GT R and GT3 are competitors. I can privately email you some literature from Mercedes training team, I work with Mercedes.
the EVO COTY has come out before in the first week of December so I’m still hoping it will happen. Given the amazing new cars this year, I will be really disappointed if EVO doesn’t do COTY 2017.
