Six of the last ten.

But should be 7 of the last eleven once this years competition is over...

Why not? MB is positioning the GT C coupe against the GT3, and the GT R against the GT3RS...

GT C won't even make it close to winning. Why would they pick a convertible version over the better R version? I don't think a convertible has ever one. Also the 812 is too heavy and too much of a touring car to win with the current compeition.

#1. McLaren 720S. A significant redesign of an already excellent car will prevail.
#2. Porsche GT3 991.2. It will be close but tweaking 991.1 is not enough.
#3. 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG E63 wagon. My long shot for a great sleeper!

Agree that 720 and GT3 will be 1 and 2, but the order is debatable.

EVO staffers reward the feeling of the car more than outright performance. The 720 will lay down crazy track times, but won't be as rewarding to drive as a manual 4.0L NA .2 GT3.

Is there anyone left at evo to actually drive the cars and do the comparo?

Should this be renamed "Drivetribe's car of 2017"?

I dont think the GT3 will get even close this year. Granted the engine is a big change, but not enough changes overall for them to select it again when the R won last year.

The 720S promises to be a ground breaking car that will recast what people expect from a super car. P1 performance for half the price.

So my bet is 720S first.

Renault Alpine 2nd...yep, you read that right.

This car also promises to be another category redefining car. How they have managed to get this car to weigh just over 1,000kg wet is amazing. It's 300 kilos lighter than a Cayman for gods sake!. And if there is one thing Renault know how to do is make a car that handles. I expect big things from this car.

Lambo Performante 3rd. Only because if this thing can really put down the reported Nurburgring lap time that it did, then it must be freakin' good.

^ They favor a "Manual" which for a "Drivers" car is the correct choice.- I know this will get many up in arms.

The 720S is the best looking McLaren to date. I hope it trickles down. In 6 months you will be able to steal a 650S- Hence-the issue with depreciation with them

I will bet the GT4RS will have 450 ponies with the 4.0 engine not 500. -which is quite fine

GT4RS definitely not 500 hp, 450 makes a whole lotta sense.

I wouldn't rule out the new Hurricane Performante. Beat the 918 Spyder for a the Ring record.
