If it matters, going to the track on Saturday with some of the boys here. Of course I am NOT taking my GT3 this time. I need DE first! But I will be riding shotgun and bringing the GoPros!
Agree Chris. It makes me long for the days where, as a 997 GT3 owner, there was a forum where I could find out about setup, tech issues, track times, how to fix common issues for tracking, etc. I do my best to contribute to the 991 GT board but there is so little meaningful discussion I get discouraged.
Worst of all, with the exception of orthojoe, Trak Car and a few others, there are very few owners who can actually turn a wheel in these very capable cars. I hope as they produce a gazillion more, people start discovering the craft and deciding they actually want to get the most out of them. Dare to dream, i know.
This is the first winter in 6 years I've not had a sports car with winter tires on. Snow coming tonight so now having thoughts of getting a 991.2 GT3 for winter duty...
Chris,
Different culture these days. Even the 997 gt section.
Sad state of affairs that screen shot.
I refrain from posting some of my cool projects as my thread wont be able about value and near 0 miles on odometer.
I'm racing this weekend at Willow Springs, does that count?
Honestly, the 997 GT3 2010-2011 early owner crowd was pretty hard core tracking group, myself included. A lot of those guys went on to real racing in purpose built race cars (like me). Maybe it was a combination of the economy, ease of purchase and value at that time for the GT3 and RS. Back then there were a few used RS going for $115-120K, some track prepared already- not cheap but RS for GT4 money really. And to think production numbers were a third of the 991.1, yet we flogged them on the track mercilessly like you could get another one tomorrow for less... and you could!
for real though, for insurance purposes I don't post videos online generally. Come down to Buttonwillow for my/our track day on April 14th
i am there.
before that i'll be at TH with PCA in 8 days
then end of may BW with PCA
june 2-4 at TH
oh and chris N. what is this DRIVING u talking about?
porsches are symbols of worship and it's a new asset class. u dont drive them. you kneel in front and light up a few incense the mumble or chant....
Everyone knows that I have a rule that all the GT cars that I own/have owned will hit the track. I love to sleep too much to ever make it to a C&C event and the only times I will ever get up early will be for track days. It's all about the DE cup (I proudly sport the cool stickers that Chris helped to create)
