I guess its much more subjective in the UK with dealer principals making a subjective decision based on your history with the dealer, sales referrals, ownership and taking into account how many cars you have bought and sold back to the dealer and other factors like that.

Here is another alternative for a prospective GT3 buyer. WAIT. This car is not the cats meow. I don't view it as a must have. For those that do, pay the inflated price. For those that take my view, time will be on your side. And to those that presently own a .1GT3 or .1GT3RS your out of your minds to chase after the .2GT3. The .2GT3 doesn't have that much over the .1GT3 and certainly has nothing over the .1RS.
Bingo...going from a .1RS to a .2GT3 is a downgrade in my opinion. I know I'm not going to be getting an allocation until 2018. With the GT2RS and GT3RS coming, it'll open many GT3 slots. We all have to be calm and patient and let the frenzy die now. I don't even want to think the kind of premiums stealers are going to be asking for with the GT2RS and GT3RS.

Just dropped off my 991.1 for service and talked to my dealer today.

Car is in V200. Should be V260 on 7/14 and should get to port (San Diego) in late September.

This thread and the forums build hysteria and hype. Sadly, there are too many that buy into it.

I have a 991.1 GT3 and I will be getting a 991.2. I think it will be a fantastic car and I welcome the 4.0L. I'm not losing my ****. I'm not losing sleep...

In fact, many of us who have had relationships with dealers and who are getting them aren't losing sleep.

Hell, I had my order and allocation since very early on and haven't checked this thread until now.

I didn't bother my dealer about the status. I could have, but didn't. I just chose to casually ask since I was there today. If I have to wait a few months, so what? My wallet will love me for that. My dealer has been nothing but honest and up front with me. This isn't my first rodeo with them, so I trust them, I have no reason not to. I'm not going to annoy them with "what's my status?", "when is my car going to come in?" and constant questions like a needy child.

People just need to relax.

Agree, you can ask for the tracking sheet in the PSVMS and see the V200-V900 dates.

OT, having new bearings and hubs replaced on the .1 today. Have 19+ track days scheduled before the .2 arrival date.

DAMN! I only have 2 track days scheduled.

I have not yet replaced the bearings and hubs. I'm just in for the spark plugs and air filters (putting in the GT3 RS filters) today.

What's with the RY's? That's two in no time. I love it.

haha, definitely out of my comfort zone, all the cars I've owned have been white, black or blue.

I figured for this one, if I got another white GT3, it would look like I just had the same car, lol. I wanted a PTS color like gelbgrun, but it wasn't available, so I just said f-it and got RY.

Buying a McLaren 570 today for say $10K discount, in a year, the $210,000 car (typical lower-spec one) will be worth $180K or less (as indicated in today's market of a used 570). That would be a $30K or more hit. Same time period.

Its OK to not being willing to pay ADM, but if money is the concern, I would look for some used future classics like AMG SLS, Scuderia, 16M, Speciale, etc. Even an FF can be bought under $170K now. I think all those will lose less than $20K or $30K in one year when you find the right car.

Regarding ADM's. Porsche dealers are not the only car dealers doing that. I was interested in a Raptor a few months ago, and not having any connections with Ford dealers, I just went to the 2 or 3 near me. For a $60K to $70K Ford pickup truck, they were asking $30K to $40K over, and getting them!!! They are still over MSRP in pretty much every state in the nation. Not just California. I have called and emailed and know that to be a fact. Not that you can never find one at MSRP, but they are very few and far between. Crazy!
You can get the best and worst auto deals in the country in Southern California.
