Some of us don't care if it drops by 50% since we never had any intention of selling it, and making a profit. But, there are some envious, or perhaps jealous folks rooting for the values of RS and R to drop.

RS's will still hold value, but not the crazy markups. .1 GT3's will definitely take a hit. 911r will still stay above msrp, but will definitely take a hit.

I found 104 GT3 RS for sale so its such a rare car that circa 140 are for sale in Germany and Switzerland alone, many at very reasonable prices

Further, in light of the fact there are only about 1400 in North America I really couldn't care less what's in Europe (irrelevant to us in U.S. and Canada) especially right hand drive cars. Only about 3500 WW also. Did the numbers.
Also, if 991.1GT3RS is the only 991RS expect values to rise and it's looking that way.

Also, expect plenty preoduction of .2GT3. Lots.

When I first read AP's interview on 991.2 Gt3, I was ready to trade in my UV RS sight unseen. He's Porsche's best salesman by far. After a little time passed and I checked in with my crack dealer (PNH) to talk about 1.2gt3, I realized it's going to be a hard decision to ACTUALLY let go of a purple wide-*** giant wing wheel-cutout wheel-flared cartoon of a monster car that I spec'd myself in exchange for the new Gt3 that is probably better on paper for less the price.
It all comes down to emotion for me. Why do I have a green 997.1rs for 3x the price of a 997.1gt3?; those cars drive nearly IDENTICAL with exception of LWFW which can easily be swapped; cause my wide body, winged frog with decals gives me bigger goose bumps than my old white 7.1gt3. It's goosebump/adrenaline test for me; not a ******* contest. Logic should tell me to sell the frog and buy a plain Jane 7.1 back. But I ain't gonna. I don't own a 7-4.0 to tell people about it; I do because it makes me giggle like a 10yr old boy when it pulls like a tractor and produces one of most angry exhaust notes I've heard in any car (ok, maybe not cgt).
I have plenty of manual alternatives to choose from. So tranny is not a big driver for me. 991 RS or .2 Gt3 would be my only dct in the line-up.
I don't think I have enough time to drive two modern cars and give my older stuff any love at all. So I'm not sure owning both makes sense. We'll see. I have time to chew on it. But I've come off my initial knee-jerk reaction of "I HAVE TO TRADE BARNEY TO GET THIS THING NOW!"

This is a very odd thread on why a car will drop in price, and frankly not sure why do people care other than to take jabs?? (My opinion) I sold my GT3 for close to sticker so no loss after two years, and I always wanted a RS ......boom got lucky and nabbed it. I would go on a limb, and say anyone that has an RS can get a GT3.2 allocation pretty quickly, and any dealer would love to have the RS back for resale.
Many of these cars for sale are flips, and have been sold once or twice so cash is moving. My RS will only be sold for another RS if I want to go that route, but I can say this is the best car I have driven without getting bored so it's a keeper for sure. The .2GT3 is a fine car, and its a Porsche so we all have a vested interested for it to do well which drives more R&D money. For the "R" owners trust me they have high 7 figure guys, and can care less what the market does. Also remember they got the car at MSRP cheaper than what some .2GT3 new owners will pay. When I got my GT3 I paid MSRP, and I know people that paid 30k to 50k over for a GT3 ....it will happen with the .2 also. Some people don't mind a premium for what they want, and one poster said 200k can be a rounding error in some of these incomes. Rule of thumb when discussing ones buying power it's always away to know how much less one makes vs. the next guy so it's all relative/not important. Enjoy whatever car you have, and drive the crap out of it because it's the old model when you take the keys. (Next car is in development to take your cash) Porsche is very good at what they do, and they know you all will come back just look at the threads on how may people are ready to fork over 200k
Nuff said on this one.
