So what does this mean for 991.1 RS??

Yeah, I'll keep the RS and add a manual .2GT3. After that, I'm out of space and time to drive any more cars so if the .2GT3RS comes out I'll trade my .1GT3RS in for it. Plus I'm a working stiff so only so much money I can put into the toys.

JrTaylor9: Some good points. However, RS is an RS and imho will always be more desired than GT3. RS for each version marks the "king" of the GT 911 for that iteraton and 911 version. Which would you rather have today...996GT3RS or 997.1 GT3? The later is faster, more powerful and better by any measure. Which would you rather own, 997.1RS or 997.2 GT3? Later is faster and a better car.
High demand for new .2GT3 will push prices higher and consequently push RS prices higher for any on the market imho and may even cause a rise in .1GT3 prices
Brake Dusts numbers are U.S. If those are the 991.1 numbers for U.S. there are definitely without doubt more 991.1GT3s in U.S. than RSs and about 500 less RSs ROW.

Man, at some point, when there are so many thousands of 911 iterations and models being produced with "RARE" options and "RARE" colors.. it really does start to stink of Dutch tulip market doesn't it?.. at some point all these 10-30 car garages are gonna empty out of no/low mileage cars bought by people who actually could care less.. and then the party will truly begin. suddenly selling a barely used but stale car at 50% of its price instead of 200% of its price will be what is required to move it them, LWB's will be tossed for sparcos with halos, and unpainted full cages will drill holes through leather door sills.. and the tracks will ring full of high revving and sometimes exploding Porsche engines. LED headlights will get removed or covered with tape, and monoblock hubs will get exchanged for 5 easy bolts.
Pendulum always swings back.
Now who wants to see my full option CXX PTS RS build?... torn on which color stripes to include.?

I like your thinking Alexio. Im no fanboy of the current market for silly prices on what is essentially a track tool. Peter will be right on the purple tulips, hes from the Netherlands after all ;-)

This thread feels like a long form women's fashion article. Seriously. Every GT car mentioned in this thread is a remarkable sports car and still work as designed, any notion of perceived obsolescence is fools errand. If anyone feels lucky to have gotten rid of a Porsche for sticker than they should think twice before buying one the next time. Maybe I'm not completely understanding, why laughter at those who paid over? Price of admission and value realized are very different.
