Im sorry for not having read all post of this thread and maybe not being polite earlier.

Calexio do you know if the manual still will rev 9000?

Will there even be one? Or is the next RS will be 992?

I think the price increase is more to get after "money left on the table" for Porsche corporate, than going to the dealers.

It has been spoken about, but there is a limit of pricing increases/markups where you start flirting with supercars above $250k (IE 570s, huracan, 458, etc.)

There are, no doubt, bean counters that are analyzing what the market will bear. And push that pricing for max profit.

GT Silver w/black wheels, combined with the new black bits will look awesome. Like it Jimmy!

Let's leave the pricing debates to USCTrojan in his allocation thread We know how well versed he is in the subject

I think this GT3 is a great model and very competitively priced at MSRP prices. Porsche prices go up every year. What's new? Would rather focus on the info regarding the model than the pricing drama whatever form its in.

Is it even possible to have the bucket seats or sofas without alcantara at all?
atleast not an option based on the US config.

My pleasure guys. Once I saw the unbelievable info on the new model got excited. Definitely needed a proper rollout here, or at least try to.

There has been some great content posted here, much better than I can do (or have knowledge of) so hats off to everyone who's posted. I've was so busy yesterday tracking down stuff and organizing it, that I haven't even read/seeall of it yet!

Jalopnik even linked us here in their article:

A great time for the GT program. Hats off to PAG and Porsche Motorsports. Andreas Preuninger as well

So AP says not to install a SMFW after the fact do to potential mechanical issue's. I realize the 9K rpm in this new 4.0 is cool but why not use the R 4.0 in this GT3 version, thus we could've had the SMFW option if preferred?

My guess is Porsche wanted to distance itself from our top end eating beauties. New engine means no discussion about it.

It's possible that Porsche could not resolve the harmonic imbalance at higher rpm's, thus choosing to go with a dampened DMFW. (just a guess.. nothing from cleaning ladies, :P)

I think it had to do with the 9k redline.

APs order would have been. We are the best in the business.
Give me a super reliable 4.0l engine that revs to 9k rpm. Get it done.
If you listen to the drivetribe interview, AP sounds very excited about the engine.

The new engine is superior. The previous engine is a completely different design. It would open a can of worms with manual owners as to why the PDK guys got the latest gen engine and they got stuck with the older design. Also, the internals are very different. Keep in mind the previous 4.0 could not rev to 9k rpm but this one can.

Because this engine is so much more special than the RS 4.0.

I would not be surprised when the next RS comes out, that they have extracted more power by allowing the engine to rev to 10,000rpm because the technology they have used potentially allows them to do that.
