Default Front axle lift for gt3

Searched and didnt find a thread.
How much weight does it add in kg?
For those here without this system, how many have damaged the front because its so low?
very thankful for answers!

I'm probably not going to spec it on mine. For the price of the lift I can buy 10 front splitters, not to mention another thing that can break and adds weight. I have scraped a few times in my GT4, but it isn't visible from the front. You can only feel it if you run your hands under the bottom of the lip.

it's not so much scraping the front end. Depending on your trailer setup, the lift helps the loading angle and makes it easier. I know for me I can load without additional ramps with the lift up, no dice with it down. Not having to carry extra ramps, makes having the lift a must buy. I've also run into a entry to a parking garage that was too steep, lift also helped there.

Search the forum, the weight has been discussed before.

I want to say it's 12 pounds, but I could be remembering wrong. For some folks it might be a necessity, it's not about the fact you can buy 20 splitters for the cost of the option. And if the weight of the splitter is impacting your DE time trials you need a different car...

I had it on my GT3 (won't on the RS because I didn't get to spec it) and used it rarely. Big speed bumps only and I was never sure if I really needed it for those either. I'd buy it if I was ordering a car but I wouldn't pass on a car because it lacked the option.

I don't have it on my RS and have never had an issue with driveways, parking lots, etc. I'm careful though and choose a good angle. The only issue I've had where it would have been handy is putting it on a car lift. If I want to put the RS on the top I have to back it on because of the ramp slope (and they are the low sports car ramps). I just put a different car up there. Makes me drive the RS more, which is a good thing.

Ditto! Coming up on 20K in my GT3 - No Lift, still on the original splitter.

Thanks guys for the answers!
Guess chosing not Fr axle lift and manual one will save around 22kg for the new .2, always something!

I live in a major city and often drive into the core. Cannot do that with any peace of mind without a lift. If I only tracked the car I wouldn't care, but my gt3 will be driven a lot.

Ordered my '15 with it and my '18 will also have it. Splitter is low cost replacement but the bumper runs about $7500. My area has many steep drives and road irregularities. A necessity not an option here.

I didn't have it one my 2014 GT3 and never had a problem until I sold it. Lost a few buyers who insisted they needed the lifter. Others tried to get a price reduction because it lacked a lifter.

When I order my .2GT3, I'll order the lifter.

No lifter on any cars and live in Chicago which could be the worst city for hole. Just need to watch and use angles when driving. Never replaced a splitter in my time of owning several GT cars.

Same. To each their own. In my part of the universe it has been a life saver, my other one has years of scrapes on the front end. None on the GT3 due to the lift. I will hedge the 15 lb penalty with gym time
