Default New Cup 2's. Dealer set pressure to 36/41?

I just changed my Dunlops at the dealer after 13,200 miles. Trying Cup 2s this time. Pressure shows 36/41 and now I need a chiropractor. What should these things be set to cold and hot for street driving?

It's the law in California. Dealers have to set tires to max pressures when they service a car. I always bring my gauge and drop them before I leave the lot, so I don't lose a filling.

I post that and they might get a bad rep. The mechanic who works on it is really cool, and so is service.

Ok, just curious since you are local.

Rob,
I always tell them where I want mine. 30/32 IMO is best. I also never want them to wash it, and have to ask each time. Let us know your comparison once you get some miles on it. Have you left the suspension geo stock?

IIRC, it should be 29 F and 32 R cold.

Manual says 29/33 street. 30/32 is for track where potholes, etc aren't a problem.

I will keep that in mind for next time. I never let them wash it. Suspension is stock.

I will definitely let you know my thoughts once i have had some time with them. I will say i like the look of the Michelins better. But it is close.

That seems a bit ridiculous since some have a very high max pressure that you would never drive at. Another example of a CA law that's too intrusive?

Max pressure, or recommended pressure on door post sticker? Max would seem to be nuts?
