GT3 Engine Misfire Issues
Porsche revised the MA175 (3.8) engines with new heads, valve springs and cams starting at engine F 03048, and new cams again starting with engine G 05373, so this poll is an attempt to relate GT3 (not RS) engine durability to specific engine revisions. Since there are a ton of variables, we are going to keep this poll simple. Either your current or previous engine has or has not had the infamous misfire issue. If your engine has not been replaced or rebuilt, you should select "No Issues" along with the engine you have. This will be a multi-select poll, since you may have had issues with a prior engine or engines, but the new one is still okay.
Note: you need to know the engine number you have. I found mine on my trunk lid (top right corner), but my engine is original. For reference, mine is F 01625, meaning mine was prior to the first revision. I know, lucky me. The first revision occurred around Feb/March 2015. The second occurred around mid 2016. Thanks Cay_PI for digging this up. To be certain, you need to find your engine number.
Example 1: You have a 2014 GT3 and your engine has NOT been rebuilt or replaced. You would select "No Issues - Prior to engine F 03048."
Example 2: You have a 2014 GT3 and your engine HAS BEEN REPLACED (not just rebuilt). This gets a bit trickier. You would first select "Issues - Prior to engine F 03048" since your E engine was replaced. Then you need to categorize the new engine. If it was an engine after Feb/March 2015 and your engine number falls between F 03048 and G 05372, you need to select "No Issues - Between engine F 03048 and G 05372." In this case you are logging two entries, one for each engine.
Example 3: You have a 2014 GT3 and your engine HAS BEEN REBUILT. You would first select "Issues - Prior to engine F 03048" since your E engine was rebuilt. Then you need to categorize the new engine revision. If the engine received a new top end after Feb/March 2015, you should probably select "No Issues - Between engine F 03048 and G 05372." In this case you are logging two entries, one for the original engine issue, and the second one for the rebuilt engine.
What we are trying to do here is identify if the original misfire problem reported with the E and F engines were resolved with the first rev, the second, or neither.
Here are the choices:
No Issues - Prior to engine F 03048
Issues - Prior to engine F 03048
No Issues - Between engine F 03048 and G 05372
Issues - Between engine F 03048 and G 05372
No Issues - After engine G 05372
Issues - After engine G 05372
In the comments please note:
1. Your selection
2. Overall mileage
3. Track mileage
4. Engine Mods, if any (including exhaust and headers)
If you selected more than one entry above (because you had engine issues) please complete the same number in comments for each engine/rev.
I think we can assume that things have gotten better with each revision. What I am hoping to do with this poll is figure out how much better that improvement is. So for example, if you have rev 1 (prior to Feb/March 2015), how likely is it that you will have this issue? Let's say you own a 2015 made after Feb/March 2015, do you still need to worry? Because now when someone reports an F engine failure, it might be one prior to Rev 2, and therefore not an issue for you. This all comes down to figuring out if you should risk owning this car out of warranty. While no poll will be absolutely definitive, with enough responses we might see some trends that help provide answers.
In my case, since my engine was made before the top end was changed, things are a bit more dicey. I still would like to know how likely it is that I will have this problem, as maybe this issue is not as prevalent as it appears. But no matter what I still have concerns. Now, if I had an F engine made after Rev 2, but prior to Rev 3, I definitely want to know if Rev 2 cuts my odds of having this issue down to the point where I don't care about it. The only way we are going to have meaningful data is if a lot of people respond.
Thank you.

1. No Issues - Prior to engine F 03048 (knocking on wood and hoping it stays that way), mine is F01483
2. Overall mileage: 11,100 KM
3. Track mileage: 1 track day in my ownership did only 3-4 laps so i would say max 15 km in my ownership so far, i bought the car with 3,800 KM and was told the previous owner tracked it from day 1 and basically parked it at the track but i don't have the data as to how much are track mileage / non track from his ownership
4. Mods: DMS race headers and BMC air filters (if that is considered a mod)

I think it would help to break out Gs from Fs. Different rev limiter and valve springs.
Early G. No issues.

Scott, did you select "No Issues - Prior to engine F 03048" and another entry for the replaced heads that are still working? This is a bit confusing so i wanted to make sure.
