Huracan seems like the real deal, now that independent tests are verifying its speed.
Trofeo R seem to be helping a lot in the dry, but show weakness in the wet, with 4WD Performante losing out to 720 on lap time.

Ridiculous question, apparently, but why not just get a Speciale? Choosing a Huracan over a Speciale (I know it's not new), it's pretty much the same as getting a turbo over a GT3(RS). Or a C4 over a C2.
Is the Huracan really going to be a good (reliable) track tool enough to justify the 4wd?

Seems like a margin of error in difference. IE; almost none at all.

It may work, but what is being demonstrated in the video is that a more powerful car is faster than the less powerful car...

Speciale are great cars but going to run out of warranty faster than the Performantes will and that definitely influences buyers

Rumor time: New hardcore Aventador is a mix of Centenario and Performante. Will have 800hp this time. Geneva 2018 debut.

Drove the P on the track 4 weeks ago and then 4 days on the roads around my house. Best car Inhave ever driven on a track, and it makes driving fast so easy. Makes average drivers look like great drivers. On the road, it exudes so much emotion and excitement because of it’s looks, sound and performance. I never liked Lambo until now, have a P on order and also ordered a 580 Spyder. And this is from someone whose most recent Ferrari’s were a 458 coupe and then a spider.

I've been strongly considering selling my RS for one. Kind of want to wait for the spyder version though.

Performante is the best car I have ever driven, just amazing!

But unfortunately for proper track day use, there are some issues:

You can do a crazy fast lap time but the car eats tires and brakes so much, and there is no track spec brake pads available, you will destroy them immediately.

You cannot (at least easily) get proper camber.

Some gearbox issues at the track with sticky Trofeo Rs.

You cannot get proper seats, many drivers even at around average height hit their helmet to the roof on a bumpy track.

The most critical thing is you cannot install race harness, proper seat belts, with the original seat. And, if you switch a race seat, you get problems with airbag errors that are not (at least easily) fixable at all.

And how to install the belts? There is no roll cage or roll bar available from the factory but you need a custom job, while with Porsche Clubsport Package you get it for free.

So, if Lambo provides a proper track package I would try to order one. They provide active aero but cannot fix these basic things!

Still, for anyone less track crazy than me, the car is amazing value compared to GT2 RS Weissach, as it is lot cheaper, lot easier to get, and lot better sound with fantastic V10 engine. But if you are a track day addict with a GT Porsche understand the above issues before ordering.
