Fast is a rs6, s65, aventador, 599, even a 458 feels faster. Stopwatch stats are one measure but so are seat of pants feel. Yes, i read the 720s does 0-60 in 2.9 sec, it just didn't feel that fast.

Are you sure it was a 720s the let you drive? Went for test drive yesterday and was blown away by that cars speed, sound, and handling. My 458 wasn't close in any performance by numbers or feel. It only sounded better.
Allocations were available to build now and receive in December at dealership I went to.

Thanks for this, I'll can my deposit and pick up a CPO RS6. Which dealer did you use and where did you drive the 720S?

Under high rev's proper gear if 720 hp doesn't get ones full attention they are with team Blue Angels.

Cars like the 720s have a lot of personalities - if one doesn't know how to find the "Bond" buttons these cars can feel unemotional appears the salesman missed an opportunity but he may have realized this was a no win situation. Old saying it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow which is IMO what took place.

You're confusing speed with response. You probably felt an RS6 from dead stand and got AWD pull and thought it was "fast". The other cars have more immediacy (jerk) in the throttle response due to N/A. You just like N/A cars....not fast cars. 750 is accelerates far more quickly than anything on your list.

Drove the 720S last week, just days removed from a 488. The 720 is faster. It's not only faster it is a better car. The speed is on a different level. It's nuts.

Test drove a 720 this week. Not sure on some aspects of the busy styling (better in dark colour perhaps) but as a package, compelling. Put its significant power down with little fuss. Rear visibility was one of best aspects from practical road driving viewpoint. Do not order fully electric seats, the adjustment access is extremely poor.....Suspect I will enjoy 991 GT2 RS more though and waiting for allocation confirmation.

Going to borrow a 570 for 24hrs and see if viable to swap over from my Turbo S daily driver. The reports on here (and elsewhere) about reliabilty are a concern. And why no CD player option in McLarens?! I don't do MP3/I-tunes.

I just drove the 720 and it was unreal. Insanely fast and responsive. Sound is much improved. The shifts of the transmission are way faster and the interior is higher quality than before. It is the best car I have ever driven.

Previously the best car I had ever driven was 675. Other than the alacrity of the exhaust thwap on the 675LT, I think the 720 is better in every way.

Best colors for the car so far:

Onyx
Sarthe Grey
Paris Blue
Burton Blue
Saros
Memphis Red
Abyss Black

I had placed a deposit on a huracan performance but after seeing the 720s, I just can't justify it. The 720s appears to be in another league of car altogether. My only concern is reliability, but from a build quality standpoint, the car looked as good as any I've seen.

Wow, that says a lot. Looking forward to the LT version in a few years.

CJ, does McLaren offer a factory delivery for US bound cars? I'm getting tired of playing this "allocation" game with Porsche GT cars.
