Just put in my 600lt spec today, ended up at 279 and delivery in November...did the louvers and fenders in carbon (ugh) but left the rest of the exterior carbon out as it's mainly appearance vs any performance benefit. The scoop was the one thing I was really thinking about but I don't love the way it looks on the MSO X (vs the 675LT which I do love) and I'd have to put in like 45k with what needs to be in it to have it...which for this car at it's "bargain" level seems like it could bring it into dangerous territory. I don't think the car specced under 290k will have any real resale repercussions short of a terrible paint...above...that's an interesting question...either way, this thing is going to be a riot.

Mine is actually silver, but with all the contrasting palladium roof. I think the 600lt's sweet spot is the 270-285 range at the end of the day...or the car that has EVERYTHING (which would be a 315-320 ish spec). You have to make sure you include the things that are expected of a 250k + car but not go overboard...OR go completely overboard and make sure its the car someone who want's every special bit can have...eg roof scoop, all the carbon, Senna seats and harness bar. But who knows at the end of the day really, other than the car will be a blast to drive and you don't (or didn't) need to play tons of games for an allocation.

What's your thoughts on the 720s? I went and sat in a 570s and 720s the other day (McLaren Scottsdale) and I found the 720s a lot more comfortable and much easier to get in and out of due to the door which opens at the roof as well. Price is about 40-50k more for comparably loaded car. Can be had for $325-375k. I'm probably going to buy one next summer after I get my 3RS. I think it would be a nice compliment where the 600LT is a similar purpose car as a GT3 or GT3RS.

They’re making the car for a 12 month period - no limit on numbers. Also no official word on a spider variant. Although I’m certain there will be one.

I’m going with a low spec for mine. Probably around $261K + Delivery.
Cant choose a color though. Debating between silica white, orange, or Vega blue.
I do plan to track mine too. However, keep in mind that Mclaren will only warranty tracked cars if you get it inspected just before and after the track day. I believe it’s nearly $1000 total for getting both inspections.
Honestly kind of lame tbh, but such is Mclaren.

Work with your dealer on the pre track inspection. That should be 1-2 hours. Post track...could be some extra cleaning necessary

Don't know if you're Nor or Socal but my dealer (Mac San Fran) charge $250 for track inspection. As long as you let the same the car most of the time they don't require you take it in every single time.

There were only so many allocations available for the Gt3, 3rs and 2rs as well and WAY more of those built than Mclaren does...

The pre track inspection thing is a huge time sink. Something that needs to be worked out between you and your dealer. And McLaren needs to sort that stuff out. Want to do 2 track day a month? Think about it.
