Don't know if I could hold out and stay away, though i took a good hit!
So I had a 991TT (15) for a few months, sold it and got a 14 991 GT3, kept it a few weeks then learned about the engine issues, got over that while toying with the idea of possibly trading the car for a GTR (Had a post on here going for a while "Talk me off the ledge" asking the community for their thoughts) and as I was completing the title work for the GT3, though the dealer I bought it from had a clear title in IL, Texas would not give me a clear title and the car ended up with a branded title due to a reported buyback in CA... long story short, I got pissed, sold the car.
Went for a couple of months without a sports car, done it before and gone a few years but was in the Army and did not care.
Apparently I am going through some serious withdrawals
I wore out the tires on my BMW X1 in a few months driving around town running errands
I am taking corners like crazy, craving a good handling car and some speed, I am a junkie, I will admit it!
Went about looking at a few cars, including the new GTR, a 2017 Z06, MP4 12C and the last body style Audi R8 V10 Plus... test drove all but the 12C, and still miss the GT3 knowing it has the engine bug.
I found me a pristine 14 with less than 1600 miles, white just like I like it
Comes with CPO until Jan 2020 and has a CLEAN title (tripled checked with the dealer and DMV, their state and mine)
I am thinking I am going to pull the plug in the AM, everything is lined up, numbers, financing (I am taking out a partial loan) and everything is a go.
I guess, I am reaching out to see if anyone would advise me not to buy one?
I feel like it is the car that will hold its value the best of all that is out there (less the GT3RS) and it is holding well despite the engine issues as Porsche is taking very good care of the customers. So this is me checking in.

Buy it! I had a 2015 White GT3 and sold it. I considered a few other cars but just purchased a 2014 Black 3150 mile CPO car and could not be HAPPIER
The GT3 is the best sports car by far in this price point in my opinion.

I also considered, still lingering in the back of my mind, going back to a TTs. They limited production on the 991.2's and the 991.1 are holding really well on the used car market. But the Turbo kinda lost its edge with everything is "turbo" now...

I don't know how they could there are so many of them. I took a huge hit on my TTS and will never buy another again the prices drop like a rock especially given it's starting point, 20%-30% is huge
That said I went from a TTS to GT4 to a 2017 C2S cab. I put a gt sport wheel in it to feel like my RS and a short shift kit in it to feel like my GT4. I love it, 2x the fun as a daily and more versatile. I really really love it.

While mine was having the engine replaced under warranty, I did the same shopping (570s, 458, 488, Turbo S) because I was pissed about the inconvenience of not having the car for two months but I couldn't find a car that was as fast and as confidence inspiring. It is just so well balanced it is hard to replace. Under warranty the car can't be beat and if they have the engine issue fixed you'll know from all us forum members tracking our cars well before your warranty lapses.
