Wanted PDK and 9K Red Line
Joining the GT3 crowd. Just completed a deal to swap my GT4 for a 2014 GT3 with Porsche St. Louis. They were solid to work with - no nonsense and what I felt was a solid deal.
Loved the GT4. Used it almost exclusively as a track car since ownership. I hope the GT3 will get more DD usage but still primarily a track toy. The GT4 is a wonderful car and everything I'd hoped for. I just had an itch for robo-shifting and a truly bespoke engine.
As you can see I pounced on the deal before they could even clean it up. I'll post some more pics once it arrives in Nashville.
Expect some newbie questions from me! Unsolicited advice or thoughts is more than welcomed.
Note: I'm happy to answer any questions people might have about my GT4 if you are thinking about reaching out to St. Louis to see what the deal is to buy it.
Happy holidays all.

as special as the GT4 is, I think you made the right choice! The GT4 while a fantastic car, will always be a Cayman with a Carrera engine. But the GT3 with it's 9K redline will always be sought after and will have the benefit of being a future collector car for sure! But don't treat it like a collector car, treat it like the car that you want it to be and drive it so you can truly enjoy it! Don't worry about the next guy until it's time to actually sell it, if/when that happens

Well done! I wrote a review about the two cars somewhere on this board a few months back. In summary the GT3 its all about the engine, the GT4 its all about the transmission (if you have to have MT). On the track the MT in sport mode is almost a PDK (auto blip on downshift, rev hold on up shift and such tall gearing you only need to change up 3-4 times a lap on most tracks), so the screaming 9000 rpm bespoke engine becomes the definitive memory. Id be really keen to hear your POV once you have seat and track time in the GT3. P.S. As mad as it sounds the GT3 is actually the harder car IMO to squeeze the last few tenths out of on the track...

Thanks for all the kind words. And I'll definitely post my thoughts about the differences b/w the cars. I didn't drive the GT4 much at all on the road (other than highway to and from track events). Loved the GT4 for the track - in a world where I had more garage space and funds I would certainly have kept it. I hope it goes to a good home that will continue to use it for what it was built for. I thought the "no options" aspect was super cool.

Congrats! I have a GT4 for the track and have been after a 991 GT3 for the last two years. The call of a bespoke motorsport engine is strong! Interested in your thoughts once you get her on track!
