PTS or no PTS for new 991.2 gt3
#91
If Miami is offered I think it would be a huge hit.
Has anyone seen Ruby star on a regular gt3? I think it looks super cool. I haven't seen it in person, but does it look too pink Eduardo?
The car will look fabulous in any color.

There's an absolutely gorgeous Ruby Star RS up here in Toronto, sold through Pfaff. Somewhere on here there's some great pics of it. Just too lazy to find them. And no, I personally don't think it's too pink.

The link between the two I was making is that timing is an art for the two. Neither are a sure thing. Isn't that the case?

PAG/PCNA has it marked 'Confidential' since 7/2015.
That is why I have not chosen to post them at any
of my threads, such as:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...91-gt3-rs.html
I am trying to convince Porsche that it doesn't make
sense to categorize it as such. So we need customers
like yourself, DannieK, to tell PAG/PCNA/Local P-Dealer
that if you agree with me! But each of you can contact
your dealer & should be able to get the latest approved
PTS list. The last one I received is dated 8/19/2016.

I have only seen it a few times in person.
For example, in a .2 997 gt3 RS:
*
And a .1 991 gt3 RS:
Does it look too pink?
Apparently not. Because
Porsche has recently turned
down real 'pink' stuff, so they
are not fans of true 'pink'!
*
So 'Ruby Star', or Sternrubin code 82N,
is apparently not too pink for Porsche!
***
A) Yes, I own a 2016 'Nardo Gray' RS7.
B) PTS is not a sure thing on the .2 991 gt3.
On the other hand, 'Nardo Grey', Porsche
color code Y7C, is indeed a 'sure thing' PTS
color for any future .2 991 in which PAG
allows PTS.
See the difference?

Eduardo

I have a deposit for a 991.2GT3 and my dealer said I should definitely go PTS if its available. Idk, I am very much like the OP. I like black best and then silver but I do think the GT3 is the most extroverted 911 so a bright color does serve it well.
I think the reason some PTS are so desirable has been due to the very limited color selection Porsche had offered especially with colors blue and green. At least now there is Miami Blue and Graphite Blue to go along with Sapphire Blue and Midnight Blue but frankly I don't understand why Porsche didn't make some of their popular colors like Mexico or Riviera Blue, Viper Green, Gulf Orange available as a special color option like Lava.
Fo me the GT3 was always the least compromised most visceral Porsche 911 you could buy. A Porsche for true enthusiasts. The fact that it also represented something of a bargain in the world of sports cars not to mention a bargain in the world of Porsche, as a highly optioned GTS could often come in higher, seemed to be Porsche's nod to its truest enthusiasts. I hope they return to that ethos for the .2GT3 as a car for the enthusiast first, the collector second.

It is a great rich pink colour. Really interesting shade in and out of the light. I have heard it all and always get a laugh. No one sits on the fence with this colour. Love/hate relationship from the public. Of course I am partial to it.
Two pictures, one locked up and one in the wild.

Thanks.
I guess that is better than being
the 'Queen of PTS'!
