Okay, I will stir the pot a bit b/c that's just me. What if Porsche comes out with the next GT3 and does not offer the lift, will someone who was planning on obtaining one, now pass?

Sort of like what I did now with a backup camera.

Good luck with your selection. However, if I was spending this much coin on a car I would by from the factory, and not deal with after market. If your concern is resale, a buyer would prefer a factory system plus you will have a warranty iitem.

I have it on my GT3, have never used it. So for my incoming GT3 RS I didn't order it. Spent that money on some CXX options instead. However, my driveway has a flat entrance and it appears everywhere I visit is relatively flat!

Well, it is Indiana...
CA is filled with hills, but the real issue is real estate is so scarce that they build houses on top of each other so driveways are typically very short, so even if they aren't that steep, the angle is exasperated due to the length of the driveway.

^^^^^^ good point less than 2% of car value minus mark ups. How many have LED's zero value but they look nice .....guilty as charged I do. (:

Therefor lift was definitely something I wanted on my RS. But I didn't know that my RS would end up in the 4x4 Nürburgring setup

The lift is very nice when getting the RS onto a transporter.
I don't need the lift as much as I would have with the GT3 but I still don't want to be without it.
My thought is that scraping the lip is not that big a problem, I still do that on the track at high speeds, but when you scrape more heavy, with more force, it will probably have an impact on the expensive front nose. Maybe not today but eventually.
But on the other hand if I was looking for a used 991 RS then no lift wouldn't be a deal breaker.
I think that we could sum this up as:
Some needs the lift, some don't.
If you have it, you will need it, if you don't you might need it once in a while but you can live with it.
Just avoid doing what I did if you don't have a lift: Got stuck going down in a underground parking garage - impossible to go forward, impossible to go backwards

Having a low sportscar is a lifestyle that requires planning.
