991 GT3 RS production numbers?

its based on all currently known vins in North America. Currently 1,529 known 2016 GT3RS’s. 1,318 in USA and 211 in Canada. I can’t imagine there are too many more out there after 3 years now.

Porsche built ~33k total 911’s worldwide in 2016, GT production was roughly 30%.
NA allocation is ~36%(~4% Canada/~32% USA).
*991.1 GT cars produced for USA only: 1,963 GT3, 1,318 RS and 296 R built and sold.
WW 991.1 GT production was about ~11k including 2014/2015 GT3

2019 3RS - 2,700 / 950
2018 2RS - 1,850 / 650
2018 GT3 - 6,650 / 2,400
991.2 GT = 11,200 WW est. / ~4,000 NA est.

I’ll try and simplify the math as much as possible but if we start with the official North American sales (~11k a year) as well as overall production (~33k 911’s built in 2016, ~36k in 2018) and look at overall percentage of sales that were GT, then average out confirmed numbers like 991 911R ww and 323 in NA as well as comparing regional allocations year by year we come up with an average ~36% NA allocation rate (~32% USA/~4% Canada). As there are 3,985 verified 991.1 GT in NA If they built more then 11k 991.1 GT cars it wasn’t by much. We can verify through Pors9 that there are 1318 2016 GT3RS in USA and 211 in Canada. Let’s also check this against total GT production numbers and sales. If total 991.1 GT was ~11k and we know R is 991 of those then for there to be 5k RS ww all base GT3 sales for 3 model years would have to be around 5k also, with a 2134 verified N.A. GT3 number and 36% allocation ww is likely more like ~6,050. This leaves us with ~4,250 ww out of ~11,291 which is perfectly in line with the 36% NA allocation and sales as there are 1,529 2016 GT3RS in NA.

According to the official NA sales numbers the first .2 3RS wasn’t sold until August of this year. I have a December build date for my 2019 3RS and haven’t heard or seen of anyone with an allocated production date into 2019. I’ve heard rumors that epa and carb won’t allow RS’s into N.A. that were produced after 2018 (just a rumor I don’t know either way) however if they do push into 2019 it won’t be much beyond February so I still think 950 3RS and 650 2RS will be pretty close to the final number. Just estimates though, things can always change.
