Guys with this much money to burn are buying cars much more flashy than something the average Joe couldn't tell the difference between the R and a $110K used 991.1 GTS.
Bingo^

Has to do with value. Not, wealth. Those asking these crazy numbers are hoping for the uninformed buyer that have been told by a friend that it's a great investment.
Car collectors already have their own specced R or it's incoming within the next couple of weeks.

I'm sorry, wut? Are you assuming that all car collectors are either part of the 918 VIP program or similarly viewed by a premier dealer? Because there seem to be a lot of collectors wanting one but with no R coming in anytime soon.

And you think the buy side of this market are uninformed buyers being convinced by friends???

There ARE R's changing hands at very high prices. Is there enough demand for them ALL to do so, probably not. But they'll all likely command some form of heavy premium. Those 'waiting for one at MSRP' might as well just type 'I'll never own an R.'

Bingo x 2 ^^^^^

The other crazy aspect to this. The delusional guys who think a car like this is some sort of great investment. There has been such a run up and this bubble will burst along with the stock market. These posts will be entertaining to future readers.

"Delusional comes from a Latin word meaning "deceiving." So delusional thinking is kind of like deceiving yourself by believing outrageous things. Delusional thoughts are often a sign of mental illness, but the word can also be used more loosely to describe behavior that is just not realistic."

One point that was being made is the "hype" and prices advertised for cars like this will attract the dumb with money to burn and want something just because it's the "hot" car.

Anyway, we're running around in circles here. Same as what's happened with the other 991 GT cars. The drama will continue ..... Later!

Oh ... wait until 991.2 manual GT3! Guess?? $50K over MSRP out the box.

Some guy or gal is going to get a year-end bonus next month for 10X's this car price. Who cares what they spend or splurge their money on?

I can't wait for all the "my dealership screwed me" threads to pop up once 991.2 GT3's are released.

It's going to be CRAZY on the boards here. Trust me, they'll be more "list tampering" by dealers than a crooked Chicago political election.

Yeah, what list??

Yeah, you're on the list but at a "market adjusted price"

You said "this"! We did??

The guy who told you that isn't here anymore ....

The 991.2 GT3 drama will eclipse the .1 GT3/RS/R by far.

This place would get boring real quick without a little drama to spice it up a bit.

oh - i don't know .. stop sale, fires, engines failing, how much compensation do i get for a car i got delivered, extended warranty, branded title, $X over msrp,, will porsche warranty it on the track, engine grenaded, not a race derived engine, not mezger, and it goes on, ..

i'll say the 991.2 Gt3 will have less drama and higher prices

Yup. Meant price drama. You could write a reality show with all the material you posted. You forgot PDK only, why no manual?
