People with engine issues is a small subset. Folks that usually have issues will make the most noise. The rest are happy enjoying their cars.

this car will be under warranty for a very long time in US and track warrantied as well.
No issue at all, it should be enjoyed without any drama!

Absolutely. Optimally find a late 2015 that has already have the engine replaced or rebuilt. Lots of these cars get the extended warranty so you'll get a 2yr/100K bump on the base warranty that will get you a decent amount of coverage...sell prior to end of coverage and you'll get at least 5 years of fun!

Based on the engine failure thread, seems like ALL engines have defective lubrication (newer ones less so), meaning all will fail prematurely (compared to a non-GT engine)... but on a non-tracked car with a G engine, it might never fail even under a prolongued ownership. Now, as for the letters, E means 2014 (all replaced), F 2015 and G 2016. But even Gs have had further improvements starting in July builds, with DLC coating on cam lobes (early Gs only had the rockers). And G engines have a much improved oiling system, so if I were you, I'd only buy a non-tracked car with a G engine AND extended warranty. But that depends on your risk tolerance. Mine is very little for that kind of thing, so no 991 GT3 for me. Good luck.

The 991 GT3 is a fantastic, reliable high performance car
Yes, some have had issues but seem mostly track use cars
My car still has 2+ years on warranty, and to date Porsche has been great, stepping up to fix any cars
And as one who has owned Porsche's for 36+ years, I cant tell you how many times this conversation has come up...search RL just in the last 8-10 years and you'll see the following:
-997.1 GT3 owners in 07/08 questioning the longterm reliability of their cars and selling due to RMS leaks and coolant line issues....now considered one of the best and MOST reliable GT cars...
-Same with 997.2...owners hand-wringing about dumping their cars due to cam bolts backing out, digestible airboxes, coolant lines, etc.....and now look at the value of those cars, and the status as one of the "best ever"
Again, these cars have YEARS of warranty left, PAG is taking care of fixing them and PAG and/or the aftermarket will come up with a "fix" longterm (as they've done in the past with cam bolts, coolant lines, airboxes, etc etc)

All the comments above are very accurate. The car certainly is not a truck. Those that are tracked seem to exhibit earlier wear issues, although some of the Listers like Orthojoe that track their cars halve had no issues. If concerned about absolute reliability I would buy a Chevy Silverado.
