Default Used Porsche Track App for the first time today

The phone holder I was using was crap which made the camera shake and be out of focus, and the sound and telemetry gets slightly out of sync with the video at some point, but overall I found it to be very useful. Also really like how you can dig through laps and put them side by side to see where you lose and gain vs. benchmark laps. Graphs, video, other visualizations. Very cool.

Maybe they've improved it since the original version, but I found it to be easy to use and super informative.

I'm glad I got the app. Seems to be a seamless and clutter free way to get some good info. Need to figure out the lag issues, reading up on that now.

Still looks like garbage to me. The video is totally off sync. Would love for Porsche to give me my money back. Some guy from Porsche asked me to delete this video because they claimed the problem was fixed. Obviously they were wrong. Unacceptable

The video quality is due to my $5 phone mount, my only gripe concern is the sync of sound and video. The actual telemetry (steering, brake, throttle) seem to be in sync with the video. watch it on mute and see if it changes your opinion.

The Porsche app should have come with a Camera and SD card. Like Chevy.

My Racelogic and VBox HD install are a work in progress while Racelogic makes more Canbus interfaces for RS. GT3 doesn't work, my installer Orbit Racing may have to get a data reader and so it themselves. Waiting on answers from UK will do some more microphone and video testing this weekend at Sebring.

The most useful thing is actually the lap data vs. the video. Where you can do deep dives on various things (G's, braking, throttle, time, speed, etc) and compare to other laps.
Oh I know the video quality is not the issue. The fact that it is way of sync is unacceptable. Especially after they told me to remove my video because they fixed the problem.

I edited my post - I believe the steering input, brake and throttle are reasonably in sync... The sound is definitely not. I have several other sessions from the day where all of it is in perfect sync. I'm not sure why some sessions are in sync and others are out.

External GPS will resolve the sync issues with video.

Otherwise, I've had no problems with the Track App.

As Trakcar said, just wish it was set up like the C7 Corvette.

sgroer I have had good success with iBolt Pro Dock holding my Samsung Galaxy to hold the phone

without concern that it launches out the window . I prefer video via Track Addict over Harry's

order several thru amazon , use in Suburban's with Waze app on the hyway .

(suction cupped to windscreen just inboard of left A pillar ) Track Addict app display a large laptimer

read out while shooting the vid

Here's an overlay comparing a rather slow lap with traffic vs a relatively clean lap that ended up being a reasonable time. Some cool things. I'm sure other options have robust analysis tools and I'm no expert but there are a bunch of interesting things in the app

Some other views that give you brake, throttle and steering angle at each point in the track

All within the trackn precision app on the phone / iPad. Can also export to csv files and load into whatever for further analysis.

Sean - you need to move to an AIM Solo / Smartycam setup so we can compare data! Would be happy to share my setup and templates. Capture is simple and tons of analysis capabilities. Here is a screen shot of a few laps from AMP.
