when your GT2RS inspires your GT3RS
"What happens when your 997 GT2RS inspires you to modify your 991 GT3RS? (Hint: It involves carbon fiber. A lot of it.)" This was quoted in a recent instagram post from @flat6photowerks
Scott (owner of RS pictured), Greg (photographer/Flat 6 Photowerks), and myself (Steven) put our minds together to make the RS more unique. We debated on what to have in carbon, we did not want to overdo it. We ended up deciding on having all the same areas as the GT2RS done in carbon fiber. With the help of Daniel at DB Carbon, he was able to get us all the parts in matte carbon fiber, including the hood, which we believe to be a true one-of-one piece.
We first inquired with Porsche to see if a unpainted carbon RS hood was something that can be purchased, but they respond kindly with a no. The only way they would sell the hood is with primer already applied. As a result, Daniel obtained a new RS hood and did what he does best to get us the biggest piece to the puzzle in a beautiful matte carbon finish, just as on Scott's 997 GT2RS.
That was the easy part! Almost everything bolted on as planned. Fenders were the main struggle to get installed, but thankfully this was our first and only hiccup. None of us including Paul (the technician) realized the fender vents are glued in. Porsche recommends the vents get cut out then the tabs and glue get grinded down. Sounds easier than done. I decided to take this part of the job on, and was able to get it done without damaging a $14,000 carbon fender.
This post is just the beginning. With the finishing touches currently in-progress, we look forward to sharing much more of this exciting project with the RennList community. We welcome any feedback and questions, and are excited to debut a truly unique RS after many weeks of planning and work.

Thank you! We are very excited!!
Thank you!
Thank you, wish we would have weighed before and after. My guess would be it is not much of a difference

Very nice! I like.
I believe Getty Design offers a couple variations of CF hoods.
Are DB Carbon parts over laid CF?
Disappointed the front vents are glued in...

Looks awesome! I can't wait to see a front 3/4 view of the entire car and a rear 3/4 view of the car as well! Totally the way the car should have come to begin with. Also, do you mind PM'ing me what #000/500 and the color your GT2RS is? I try to keep tabs on them with what colors and specs of each one. I want to see if I have yours cataloged already. Thanks!

Thank you!
Will have more pictures soon. Yes, you can buy the mirrors from db carbon
We completely agree with how they should have come. GT2RS is not mine, it belongs to Scott.

so there is no way to remove the fender flares without taking the whole fender out? I was thinking changing those flares, was thinking will removing the front wheels be able to remove the flares without taking the fender out.

That is correct. Fenders need to come off and the vents need cut out.
