Default GT 3 RS Baptism

Finally got the RS to the track yesterday. Wasn't able to get the cage and 6 points installed before, so I wasn't super comfortable pushing it too hard. Took it to Auto Club in Fontana. A friend had a free weekend so I "twisted" his arm enough to drive my GT3 up so we could do back to back sessions.
I was able to do 3 sub 1:50 laps first session, which is about a second off my personal best in the 3. The track was set up a little slower and it was pretty hot, so pretty happy with my times.
Had rubbing issues, wearing thru the front right liner near the corner light. A little bit of rubbing on the rear fenders, just beyond the spot where the rolled edge (on the front part of the fender). Both areas only caused minor "scratches" on the tires.
The car felt great. As others have already stated, turn in is improved over the 3. With the rear sway set to stiff it allows nice trail brake rotation. Confidence inspiring for sure. The 3 feels looser than the RS, although it's a characteristic that I am familiar with. Braking felt the same, with minor tail "wiggles" with threshold braking. No worse or better than the 3. I did not push it very hard thru the banked oval because i was worried about the rubbing and no 6 points. That being said, it felt planted and composed. All in all quite pleased with the "Blue Monster!"

Very cool. Do you know what your cambers are front and rear? What did you have the front sway bar set to? Middle? I'm going to get the camber increased along with slotted rotors, pads, and fluid done before I hit the track in early Nov.

PCA SDR is at Buttonwillow on Nov 12th & 13th...you should come out.

Car looks good. You were being gentle. That thing has at least another 8 seconds on it. You can car 1.4 g in that turn 1-2 :-)

I followed Trakcar's set up: -2.5fr/-2.2rear, 0 Toe front, 1.5 mm Toe in rear (.6 of a degree), front set to medium and rear set to firm. Ran pressures of 32/36 hot.

Would love to hit BW that event but will be visiting the family back east that week.

What can you do to prevent the rubbing?? Do you rub when you do spirited street driving?

Thanks James! Will be heading to Thermal the end of the month for some coaching with Drake. Hoping to get my GMG Voodoo Blue LMS cage installed this week down here in San Diego.

Most of the red racers in GT2 are running low to mid 140s.

So breaking into the 140s on its first outing is not bad.

Also goes to show you how crazy fast these cars are getting. I have to think you can really feel the aero working in turn 1-2.

That said i'm a huge ***** and slow at AAA.

Haha. I'm with you on turns 1 and 2! I've done 1:48s in my GT3 during a cooler day and the cone set up coming out of the play ground made it easy to cut the corner going into the front straight. I expect to get down to 1:47 knowing full well it could do faster if I wasn't such a wuss thru 1 and 2.
