No lift on RS hurt resale?
From what I've heard, on the GT3 used market, is that cars without lifts can hurt resale window of prospecting buyers. Not sure how true all this is but my question is what's you your thoughts and pertaining to a GT3 RS?

A few thoughts:
1. The lift feature in 997 cars has been historically unreliable. Oh and it costs a fortune to fix it out of warranty.
2. It's added weight on a car that strives to be light
3. There are likely an equal number of buyers who will want/not want this feature.
4. On my 997.2 GT3, I desperately wanted it but ended up finding and buying a car without it. I realized it's much easier to just replace lip spoilers as needed and accept the scrape. On resale, it had zero impact on my car's value.
5. I don't have it on my RS and couldn't give a f'k

1 i truly enjoy rubbing the lip. you should see the one on my RS and 4.0. love it
2 it's more than the lip that rubs. any of you actually work on the car? the underside of bumper gets rubbed. the brake duct flap gets rubbed. you cannot use lift for those b/c i rubbed those at high speeeds
3 if yo forget to use lift just once it will get rubbed, so whats the point
4 for me, i will never again buy one with lift. i will pay 10k more for one without. i had two that had them. they WILL BREAK. and you will be scared to hear the replacement cost. this is coming from soneone who just told the deaelr dont warranty my tranny, i have no time. just put a new one in and i will pay for it.
that's just ME.
but it's your car not mine.
all three RS i kept have no lift and two have no radio.

Mine has it, and I need it. But I have zero doubt that in 20 years the ones without lift and some other now-mandatory options will be the most sought-after. Just like the 964 without tip, sun roof, 4wd etc. There must be a non insignificant impact on driving dynamics due to the weight and where the motor is placed. Plus things like that always eventually break.
So getting lift really depends on whether you need it and on how long you intend to keep the car.

My GT3 has it and I have never used it, so on my soon to arrive RS I didn't order it. Personally, I would just focus one day on your typical drives and get a lay of the land--if there are a lot of situations where it seems needed then get it. If not, then don't. Simple.

When I ordered mine the sales manager looked at my build and asked '' do you intend to keep the car ? '' because I didn't have lift , ceramics , chrono or a radio .I'm sure there are people out there who want as little ''stuff '' on an RS as possible - and if not I don't really care . Likewise I'm sure there are people that couldn't live w/o lift , but I'd live with a scrape of the lip now and then if you could .

I had lift on one 1 of 4 gt cars. Don't need it.
